He missed the greatest drummers: Ginger Baker. Danny Carey. Carl Palmer. Terry Bozzio. Vinnie Colaiuta. Carmine Appice. And he puts Dave Grohl on his list? Please, he's not even in the top 100.

I was really happy to see Katche on the list. Been a big fan since the early 90s when I first heard of him. Some great work on Peter Gabriel's Secret World tour, particularly on Across the River and Secret World.

+1 on Neil Peart - I think that he's in a class of his own If they said "Percussionist" - I may have voted for Peter Gabriel. Over the years, he has found creative and highly artistic ways to make unique percussive sounds and incorporate them into his music. He is one of those gifted with the ability to "think outside of the box"... with an Honorable Mention going to Ringo (Ringo was one of the FIRST. What he did was not all that complicated, but watch what he's done over the years with the various "All-Star Bands" that he's assembled over the years, you'll see that even at his relatively advanced age - he can still "bring it"!) |

Isn't this sort of like asking what are the best speakers? What is the criteria that is used, and why limit it to just "rock and roll" drummers? And in the end it's the drummer that sounds the best to you.  |
