EMO Devel: can you develop a cmd owners can issue (via remote) to force the RMC-1 to do a quick "hot sync" (like a hot plug connect) ... i.e. read the EDID of the currently active sink and send it to the active source. Make it lightening quick. The effect would be the same as resetting the RMC-1, but only in so far as to read the active sink EDID and sending it to the active source. Thx. That gets done a lot already. Its the only way to keep a lot of the sources out their happy. Its not open to the end user though, would need to carefully consider the possible ramifications. If we did open it up though its not a quick process. When you hot plug a device the entire chain shuts down, the sink sends its EDID, then we change the audio descriptors and pass that onto the source device that then sets itself up. The whole process takes a few seconds. Lonnie Trying to avoid doing a cold start reset (unplug from wall ect) to get RMC-1 to pass EDID info from sink to source when going from 4K HDR movie Justice League (using JVC600 4k HDR projector) to 4K DV Justice League (using 4k DV/HDR LG tv). Maybe a Hot Connect/Sink cmd would do this and avoid all this powering down, unplugging and powering back up. Don't mind waiting for all the devices to sync up. Movie: 4K Justice League (4kDV or 4kHDR, ATMOS or neural:X) Config: (disc)OPPO203/Main_V/A ---> Input1/RMC-1 RMC-1/Output1 --->---> JVC600 RMC-1/Output2 ---> LG_C8_77"_OLED

Sounds to me like its not an EDID issue but a Sink conflict. Just change inputs and come back. That forces a Hot Plug. Lonnie

Have you tried completely unplugging the HDMI of each sink device and see if the issue remains for each one individually? Lonnie

Atmos speaker height
Under the Height speakers there is a setting for "speaker height". I assume this is for Atmos speakers that fire upward.
What is the recommended value for speaker height when they are ceiling mounted?
I put in a value of the ceiling height.
Wondering what others are doing.

P.S firmware 1.5 is sweet!

I’m still having issues locking onto a DTS signal if I start in ATMOS then switch to another movie in DTS. Shows PCM 0.0 and no audio. Happens less often if I start in DTS then switch to ATMOS. A hard reset solved the problem but this is clearly not finished or my unit is defective. Bass is a little tighter, levels are closer but still off a bit.

This is the answer I got from Oppo when I forwarded them this issue (atmos mkv locking up): We are aware of that Dolby Atmos bug but then we are taking about certain user generated content that is not officially supported by the copyright holders. You will have to use the fix of power cycling the player in order for it to work or changing soundtracks. That way it will not be an issue with movies but obviously it will not help with trailers, sorry about that.

Understandable considering Oppo had a problem with toeing the line with bluray licensing and the unique ISO firmware they had to withdraw at one point ; easy fix at the time - sell my 95 and buy a media player that wasn't licensed for playing bd's but no problem with ISO's and other codecs

LonnieSmall issue with Firmware 1.5 If you tell the Menu to display on the left it will not go to the left and keep displaying on the right. (It will go to the left as you select left, but as soon as you go back one level deep its goes back to the right)

Now that I've officially joined this owners group, which of you owners have actually tried out the P-EQ results from REW measurement's ? Looks as if I'll be brushing up on the REW software to try it out in the interim between now and when DIRAC comes on board.

Last time I tried, it wasn't working correctly, but EMOTIVA has said they fixed the issues since then. I plan on trying at least my base 7 channels again soon. What house curve will you use? Maybe we can contrast and compare. I Have a UMIK-1 calibrated by Cross-Spectrum Labs.

While I get my RMC-1 on Tuesday, I’ll likely not unbox it, other than to make sure it came in one piece and turns on, until the following weekend as I have off until the Tuesday after Labor Day. I’m going to have to download the latest version and start familiarizing myself with REW again as I remember the learning curve to be steep. I have noticed several new YouTube tutorial videos since the last time I used it and that was when I had a UMC-200.

I can help you out a little there. There has been a lot of Quality of Life changes to the REW program recently. The author keeps making it easier, and adds new features almost every month. Make sure you join the AV NIRVANA forum. That is now the official place for REW releases.my

Love the fact that you can choose HDMI 1.4 for some of the inputs. My HD DVD player is back in business!!

Hi question for those who are running 2 subwoofers. Which 2 are you using? Right left or center? I also see the choice is mono or dual mono? Any thoughts or which one I should choose,? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Joe
