is there a better option than PT-100 for 2 channel stereo?

My buddy is a Parasound dealer, I'm not new to them or their gear. If I was interested in it, I would have it. Thanks for your input though.

I found Parasound to be a good niche between Uber Expensive and 'other'......

My intent was, and still IS, to get a MiniDSP and go to a TRUE biamp system. this'll gain me maybe 3db (double) the amp power.

Pre-Loved market is alive and well.

This is really a NO GAIN tube Buffer, but has 5 pairs of Single Ended inputs, is low output impedance with fairly high input impedance.

I don't know how it sounds or if its been reviewed.....and how well, at that.

Might be worth a look, for the dedicated 2ch person.

Running through the balanced XLR ins and outs on the pre pro from my ERC-2 or ERC 3 CD player to the XPA series amps sounds absolutely incredible. Best sounding set up I have heard. They don't come up that often, although there is one for sale on CanuckAudioMart right now. I have turned others on to it and they feel pretty much the same way. From what I hear the Sherbourn PT-7030 sounds very similar and is actually one step up being their flagship model. If you have a chance to hear one do it!

I love those sherbourns ..they do look very nice. I just had a Anthem D1 and it also has lots of adjustments.   It took me 2hrs to get sound and when I did , it was just okay. not blow me away.

I got my 3rd PT-100 in last night.  30 minutes later I was hearing what I wanted to be hearing....sweet music off my laptop correctly ...not with adapters or thru headphone jacks.  my FLAC files sounded fantastic and even my itunes were nice. 

this is the 2nd time I had one in this configuration and this time its spot on.  only thing changed here is the laptop.  not nearly all the pretties all the other units have but its working and sounding how I expected it too!

I actually look for parasound gear at prices within my budget all the time.   but schiit has a nice pre for $699.  I think I will keep on with the pt-100 for now and maybe save so I can get a matching wyred4sound pre. I am really liking my wyred4sound class D amp right now with the pt-100

I like the older pre/pro cause you get so much for your money but for me simple is better.

I was, for some reason, trying to keep the price down. The Wyred STP-SE preamp is about 2 grand, list / new.

I didn't even dream of suggesting the 700$ schiit for the same reason, though it IS pretty nice looking and has a following.
