Whoops I should have mentioned I have tried a number of well know sites like mouser, element14, allied electrical etc. These capacitors seem to be a difficult spec especially the size/temp rating (though it could be I don't have much idea what I'm doing when searching stores for them . Thanks!!!

Nichicon, Audio Grade, snap in connection, 10,000uF, 80V. Due in to Mouser in mid April.
Double check with Emotiva if this will work.
Is Emotiva unable or unwilling to get caps for/to you ?

Thanks for reply. Unfortunately they cannot supply, and repair place here is having a lot of trouble locating genuine ones at a decent price. The 105c + rating in that size seems to be the hard part and finding the correct connector. I have already previously spent a few hundred repairing this once before locally. Risk you take when an overseas purchase I guess! Emotiva will usually kindly supply parts under warranty (which is currently not possible), and I pay labour here in Australia. So far in stock and small order applicable I have only been able to find these below: These ones but they are $40aud each which times 8 will hurt! www.soundlabsgroup.com.au/p/MU-AGPC-10000uF-80V/10000uF+80V+Mlytic+MLGO+Audio+Grade+Power+CapacitorAnd these which I am waiting on a reply from Emotiva if would suit even though a little longer (should still clear the case lid). www.x-on.com.au/DetailsPage/CornellDubilier/382LX103M080A062/?ID=c2SNvFPAO5qOyRFDaydRMw%3d%3d&SID=bw9GkdUEWABpm+4MEkNbHQ%3d%3dThought I would just reach out here in case someone with more knowledge with these could assist! Thanks again

Sorry to hear of your problems. I still don't understand how an amp that has only been out of production a few years has no supplies or extras for repairs. To me that is a sad state of affairs. I realize that Emotiva no longer manufactures these amps but still....geesh.
I wonder if you could contact ToneWinner to see if they can provide you any capacitors, they are still building amps relative to the old style Emotiva products. Just a thought, and good luck.

Yeah it's a little frustrating. I will try and contact ToneWinner and see what they say. I had hoped to try and put in some higher quality caps to hopefully prevent any further issues, but hasn't been an easy thing to do. Oh well will keep searching. Thanks!!

Yet more proof that this "limited edition" amp was nothing more than an effort to sell off extra Sherbourne parts and tech just because. Anyone who says otherwise is full of schiit. You know who I am referring to. It has not been gone that long, so any lack of support with things like this says volumes to me. This should be easy. Geez.

Concerning to me as I own 2 and both under warranty. They do sound and perform wonderfully.
I know of 2 other people who had trouble with their SA250. Wilber-the-goose right out of the box went into protect mode; amp returned. Chicagorspec had sent his back 2 or three times and several power caps had to be replaced. So caps must have been available. Under warranty and can't repair >>> hello full refund.

Four trips to Franklin for mine before I waved the white flag, David. I am glad yours are still putting a smile on your face. I ended up selling my SA-250 to stiehl11 on this forum, as I lived close enough (~ 4 hours drive) to drop it off for warranty service when passing by on I-24, and stiehl11 was much closer, to the point that another trip, if necessary, wouldn't be a major inconvenience. I sold it for peanuts compared to what other sales and the MSRP would suggest, and he was kind enough to come to my place to hear and see it, and understand the full story before taking it on. I believe from a post or two I have seen since that it is still working well for him, but I'm not certain of that. Based on my experience, if I were in Australia this is not a unit I would want to throw a lot of money at, when there are so many other choices. Whatever he decides, best of luck to the OP.

chicagorspec do you know if they used the RM caps for replacement on your amp? IIRC stiehl11 already had one SA250.

Also, I was not aware stiehl11 already had an SA250, so if that is the case, his comments on an SA-250 that I saw since the sale could have been related to a different unit than the one he purchased from me. Here is the text from the email I received from the Emotiva repair technician following my SA-250's last repair visit under my ownership: "Our service technician found the following issue: We replaced the amplifier output modules for both channels, going from V03 to V04, replaced several electrolytic capacitors on the input boards for both channels also."

chicagorspec I thought it was Steihl11 that was an early purchaser of an SA-250. It was his comments that made me buy one. It's possible I have him confused with someone else. As for the cap replacement I'm not sure if the power caps are the ones on the input board. I would think the big power caps are on the output board. Could be another cap.

Yes, still working! I use it every day, hours at a time. Got a great deal and not an ounce of trouble since I put it to use about a year ago. Hope to have many more years of service out of it.

When his sale came up for the 3 pieces of Sherbourn gear for the price I couldn't have believed my luck! Unfortunately, someone had picked the first 2 pieces and only the SA-250 was left. His price was more than fair and drove down with the Ms. to get a listen and purchase. It was a great experience and had a great day trip (even though it was raining cats and dogs)!

Thanks for all the replies. As mentioned I have already sunk a few hundred into this amp on a previous repair (caps again as well and few other resulting issues) so bit nervous with next repair, but tech here said will consult with emotiva once again. I know he upgraded a number of parts last repair. Maybe I have just been unlucky, but worrying sign with some other reliability stories. Gives a little hope others have been using theirs without issue, but still doesn't sound promising with spares having dried up. Most of the caps in this size are only 85c rating and not the 105c spec'd. I will check out above ones thanks!! When they are counterfeit they normally muck something up that helps spot them, still have been trying to stick with known sources to order through. The worry I have is if I spend another few hundred having the Mundorf caps etc installed, my life may come under threat from the wife if/when they die as well. She is already asking why I changed from the XPA-2, and the many other emo amps over the years that have been bought and sold. It is a great sounding and performing amp....😌...when it works.
