Ok, I got the PA-1´s and installed them in my current system. As I already have an Emotiva BasX A-150 for my top center atmos channel. I did connect the top center atmos channels to the Receiver and added the two PA-1 to the front channels instead. Sure enough there is clearly an audible buzz coming from both speakers when connecting the two PA-1 with RCA and a grounded electrical plug. *damn* I did take the opportunity to listen to some music while the PA-1 was connected as an external power amplifier and I'm not an audiophile but I did clearly hear a difference in sound and clarity of the music. This was not a subtle nuance but rather a distinct clarity, I have read others saying "it was like a veil was lifted" and I did for sure hear much more details from the music with the PA-1. I do not find the right words describing this as English is not my maiden language but it was absolutely, and easy to hear, a more detailed sound coming from my speakers using the PA-1 instead of the internal amplifiers from my SR-7011. I will keep the PA-1 and are now ordering some adapters from grounded to not grounded, like this one: C8 to C13This might be an expensive buy as I now have to investigate what I need to do to be able to mix and match external amps to my system. anyways, First let see how things goes with the non grounded adapters. Take care, //arcspin You could also just break the ground pin off the male end of the power cable, or if you have extra cables around break the ground off them and try that, seems when some use the RCA they get that hum, I sold my three PA-1 to a guy here on the lounge and he had the same issue as where I was using XLR from my XMC-1 and had no issue. Just search for ground loop isolator on amazon. They are very cheap. Since I've heard this pehnomenon happening at least three times, I wonder if there is an issue with the RCA design for the PA-1. Either way, I do want to let you know that the XLR inputs are super silent. Sorry to hear about your issue!

Hi, Thank you for your suggestions and sure enough, when I did use a non grounded plug the audible buzz coming from the speakers went away.
After I have done some more listening, now buzz free, I stand by my first impression that it is like a veil has been lifted and I hear clarity and details I never heard before. Now I'm of to the sofa again for more listening, again thank you for your support.
Best regards and stay safe,
//arcspin

People should also check out the Cherry Amps from Pennsylvania. I replaced my Gen 1 XPA-5 with a 5 channel Cherry Amp and the sound is excellent and the weight difference is amazing! If you pick up a demo from them, you can get an amazing value to cost deal! In fact, Dan should talk to Tommy at Cherry Amp about some kind of licensing deal? Class D made in America modules (Not Hypex/Ice Power). He probably could build these more cheaply than buying from overseas? www.cherryamp.com/5-channel-amp

Cute... although the cherry logo is a bit kitchy for me.... and they are a bit pricey although, as you say, the demos may be cheaper).

Not too much of a premium. Also, my back is thanking me!

I just bought three of these PA-1s for some Martin Logan speakers I just bought. I was kind of in a bind as spice wise I am limited to about 15” deep for three channels, so no XPA amp in this case. I will install everything next Friday I think if the amps come in and I’ll let you guys know what I think.
I realize there are better amps for what I am powering, but space wise I could not find anything that worked better.

Found the Logos on Craigslist for like $250 so o figured I’d give it a shot.

Not too much of a premium. Also, my back is thanking me! Out of curiosity, are you moving your 5 channel amp (whether XPA or Cherry) around that often that you're risking back issues with the XPA? If so, why? Moving speakers I get, but moving electronics I don't understand. It should be a short 1 time set up if you are keeping it. Are you constantly replacing the other things it is connected to and have to keep moving it out to get at it?
