I've heard rumors that it works - somewhat - but there may be issues.
HOWEVER, here's a link to the new version, which has been updated for the RMC-1: we.tl/t-UtR65qaHJN (Same deal - link will be good for a week.)
Note 1:
This is absolutely positively a beta version... and has had very little testing.
Note 2:
This is for the RMC-1 and NOT the XMC-1 (it is not intended to work with both).
I suspect that this may not peacefully coexist on the same computer as the XMC-1 Remote Control App.
(Just a guess there - based on the architecture. If you try it let us all know what happens. )

I just tried the XMC-1 PC app with my RMC-1L for the first time and it seems to be working fine FWIW.

I thought it might since the API is the same. Seems even more likely that taigovinda's problem is setup related.

Millst, are you saying that I might be able to keep using the chuck app if I tweak a windows setting or something? If I am able to go back to it, I'd prefer that (much faster and shows all the options on one screen...). Thanks. Tai

I don't see why not. As I said earlier, the API hasn't changed. If the app continues to work for others and also with newer processors like the RMC, then it's just a matter of figuring out what is off with your setup.
Maybe somebody can confirm that the app works with the XMC-1 with the upgrade HDMI board. Mine still has the original.

Hope so! Everything was working fine; unplugged XMC-1 and shipped it back for upgrade, plugged it back in with upgrade and now the errors - nothing changed on my PC, and the other remotes (phone and this new-to-me win10 remote) do function.

Have you gone to the Setup->Network menu to verify your XMC-1 is connected to your network?

No - but I can control it thru the network via my android phone and via the other win10 remote... when I go there in the menu, it says DHCP enabled and has an IP address.
The exact error I was getting is: "Communications Error" (title); "Can't correctly parse response from XMC-1 / Parse Error:12" After I hit OK (the only option), then I get another Communications Error; this one is: "Error parsing transponder ping packet!" and hitting OK again ends the application.
Thanks. Tai

I've got an orange light next to the ethernet cable on the port on the back of the XMC-1. At the other end of the cable, the router has an orange and a green light on its port.

I forget, can you manually add an XMC-1 to the app without autodiscovering it? Hopefully, you can enter your IP address manually and it will work from there.

It automatically starts scanning and I never have the option to do anything other than click 'OK' twice, the 2nd 'OK' exits out of the app altogether.

Are you using the latest version of the DIY software? Should be 4.0.1. That release came to address issues with XMC-1 firmware 4.0. There was no update for later XMC-1 firmwares. Didn't see any complaining about issues after 4.0 so I was under the impression that everything still works.

Here is a debug version of the executable. If you run this version, it will generate "XMC-1 PC Remote Logfile.txt" in the same directory. From that, I may be able to see what's wrong.

There is another option no one has mentioned FYI. Plus it allows me to control the XMC-1 via VOICE and over ip too. I literally ONLY interact with my XMC-1 over ip from a Windows PC (even volume control) and I use Eventghost to do it. It's free, powerful, supports macros and is very reliable. It has a plugin for the XMC-1 and can access many (all?) of the direct commands over the network, not just the ones on the Emotiva remote (which I haven't touched since day 1). You can trigger the Eventghost/XMC-1 commands from any remote control or from the PC directly via links, keyboard shortcuts, or voice (if you use VoxCommando too).. I do all of those, haha. Literally any event your PC can detect, even by opening a certain program or it gaining Focus can trigger an action or macro.. open Foobar = have the XMC-1 automatically power on (if it is off), change to the correct input and select a certain volume, soundfield etc. I also created "Tiles" in my Win 10 start menu for a few XMC-1 functions, I created shortcuts in my SageTV menus on my HTPC to select some XMC-1 functions directly while I'm watching tv or movies, my dumb/non-learning remote control (ir or rf) can trigger any of the XMC-1 functions by using EG (it turns any remote into a Harmony) and I can also control all of the XMC-1 functions via VOICE by also using VoxCommando (amazing program! but not free) in conjunction with Eventghost. You can have shortcuts in a folder and add it to the start menu, tiles or taskbar and have clickable links to every XMC-1 function too, but not as impressive as just saying "computer, play my music on random", having the computer speak back to you something clever, of your choice, turn the AC off, lights dim, XMC-1 turn on, select the correct input/volume, foobar open itself, start playing, etc" There are a lot of options with Eventghost beyond just XMC-1 network control, so sorry to go off the rails a bit! You could set up keyboard shortcuts on a laptop for volume and menu navigation of the XMC-1 (maybe even hijack your "media" buttons?), setup your current remote to trigger them, or just use links to the other functions which only require one click. Hopefully this will open up options for someone! If anyone finds my setup interesting, I'd be happy to help get any of the things i mentioned working, I'm very happy with my voice/network controlled setup
