No info on the erc-4? If its a market analysis like Emersa was that doesn't bode well.

Nothing official, but a lot of old discussion here. emotivalounge.proboards.com/thread/49911/thoughts-erc-4Last I heard, they were planning on incorporating a digital input so we could use the internal DAC. Also, I believe the ERC-3 DVD transport was made by Toshiba, and has since been canceled. So that part will certainly be new. Since there is supposedly a DC-2 on the way, one would think the DAC implementation would be the same (or very similar. Ergonomically I'd like to see the tray on the left side or center (ERC-3 right side tray is for lefties), along with a medium to large rotational knob with tactile click feel on the right side for skipping tracks forward / backwards. In the discussion thread above, people mentioned many things, so I won't speculate on those again.

I wish there was a better picture of the picture. It appears the tray MAY be back to being the center. If so that's a big YEAH!!!!!

Okay, you fixed it yourself, so it must be you taking the pictures. Can you get a close up of the front of the player, not the specs.

It's also listed on that spec page picture. From that page though it doesn't look like anyone else got their wishes. No streamer listed for example.

From the picture, it looks like there are 4 smaller button on the left, and 2 big buttons on the right. Can you confirm what those are or if it's different than what wee can see in the picture?

So, it looks to me mostly like an ERC-3 with a new transport. The old DC-2 was going to have different chips. My bet is that any new DAC will not have AD1955's. Mark

Mark I was wondering the same thing once I saw the literature. Question: Why is it that Emotiva doesn't just pick their favorite chip (or chip MNF) and stick with it? Is there some technical reason? Otherwise it doesn't really make sense to me. Bebopping around from chip to chip having something different in each product seems odd. Then they brag how fantastic they ALL sound, and I find it hard to buy in on.

The Analog Devices chip is their favorite chip. It was in Erc-1,-2,-3 and apparently -4. It was used on the XDA-1, -2, -2 gen 2 and dual chips in the DC-1.
