Having far larger circuits than your system will ever use won't do anything at all. One dedicated 15 amp circuit will be more than most complete systems will ever use and a shared 20 amp will most likely be as well. With most power conditioners you can see how many amps are actually being used.
Having cleaner power lowers the noise floor improving detail and a good power conditioner can improve the sound of your system in several ways, of course a bad power conditioner (or other bad power source) can impede the sound of your system and power sources do vary.
Differences from power sources can include overall detail, bass impact, quieter noise floor, warmer, brighter or harsher tone, hum or noises created by other equipment and noises caused by the power company itself.

We should limit engineers' post to 50 words. I could say the same for audiophiles. Oh, wait, I'm both, do I get 100? I can recommend a dictionary so you'll be able to handle at least 51.

Wordiness at its best. I looked at a dictionary and all I found were words that actually mean something (numbers and formulas aside which I did not find any). I am sorry sir you still get 50 words.🤣🤣

I am not sure why so many seem to be so against the people who actually design this stuff. Whatever.

I use an APC-H15 for all my system except three PA-1's which are plugged into a Furman SS6B. The APC has been a solid performer for years. I just incorporated the PA-1's and the Furman.

I have three of them, protecting all three of my audio systems. They work extremely well. I've had them for ten years and they continue to work perfectly. I got an email from, I think it was tiger direct, back in 2009 offering them for 99 bucks... a really low price for that piece of gear. I ordered one, and it arrived the next day. The quality of construction and design was outstanding, so I ordered two more so all of my systems would be equipped with one.

Replaced my Belkin PF60 with an Audioquest Niagara 5000 and it is awesome. Best power supply upgrade I’ve ever made.

I have a couple of Belkins, 2 different systems, how is the AQ better then the Belkin? What if any improvements have you heard? Thanks I’ve used my PF60 for years and I feel it is a good product. I used it on everything except for my amps and it dropped the noise floor slightly plus protected my gear. I tried it on amps but it did slightly diminish dynamics. The Niagara 5000 really surprised me as everything improved. Music is clearer, less compressed, more detailed, more like live music. The blackest background I’ve ever had with dead silence between tracks. Most importantly it’s more involving as I don’t want to stop listening, I reach for one cd after another eager to hear how this or that cd sounds. The change is not subtle, it’s more noticeable than the DAC differences in the Oppo 203 vs 205 for example. I know this sounds like BS but it’s my honest assessment. I’ve been pleased with their new power cords as well although the difference on those were more subtle. I think Garth did an outstanding job and has really improved their products. And yes, their stuff is expensive but it is damn good. Plus my other gear ain’t bad. Using my Oppo 203 as a transport, McIntosh C47 pre(using it’s DAC) into a Mark Levinson 333 amp. Still using the Revel F12’s for another year or two while I save up for new speakers. Plus waiting on Revel to update their Ultima line.

True, but at least I didn’t say anything about a “veil being lifted”. I had actually ordered the Niagara 1200 as it was more in line with what I wanted to spend, but AQ kept pushing the availability date back. I got frustrated and called my dealer as I had already paid for the Niagara 1200 a couple months earlier. Because I have been a good customer over the years they offered me a good deal on the Niagara 5000. After hooking up the unit I was apprehensive when I first turned it on. I was going to be ticked if there was no appreciable difference after spending that much money. For the first few seconds of playback I was worried but then it got better fast. No veil lifted, it was more like being outside in the hallway and then walking into the room where the band was playing. Turned out to be money well spent for me.

Clean stable power,is a must have for digital electronics. The area we live is constantly having 'brownouts' and every time it occurs, I have SSS signs flash across my eyes, then get p.o. So I ordered a couple cheap UPS for my equipment. Don't care about battery duty time, just want to keep that momentary loss of power, then power on spike from killing something and losing, internet, DTV, etc. I was having intermittent issues with my pre/pro, receivers & input devices that required unplug, then power up. That aint gonna happen no moo. Too bad I didn't have one on my $2500 Advantium oven that got fried
btw- Brick Wall, the only way to go. Been saying it for years on this site. M.O.V.s get weak, then one day...

I use a Monster piece of kit. Recently we had a close lightening strike and lost the cable box and an alarm clock, but nothing plugged into the Monster was affected.

Wasn’t all the Belkin power gear made by the Powergrip company that now makes their own stuff? That was what I was told by a seller when I borrowed the Powergrip YG-2 conditione/protector.. According to the seller an amazing product for its price.
I did notice some change for the better... Although this was compared with my current conditioner/protector and not directly from the wall socket. The Powergrip is more than double my current in price but maybe 1/3 or 1/4 of the price with comparable ISOtek or Audioquest gear.

Hi RichGuy - I agree that having cleaner power lowers the noise floor. But most power coming from the utility company is already pretty clean. A few decades ago, the power company didn't much worry about the "dirtiness" of the power they sent you, but with the advent of consumers using LOTS of home electronics, the power companies have generally done their own cleanup act. I'd contend that today most listeners couldn't hear a difference between conditioned power and wall power. That said, there are some customers (often in rural areas) that still get really dirty power (based on what I've read). My theory is that power conditioners are mostly unneeded, but if the cost is moderate, they generally do no harm. Of course, my opinion and a dollar'll buy you a cup of McCoffee, so borrow or buy a power conditioner & try it. If you hear no difference, then return the thing and you've saved some money. Boom

Of course, my opinion and a dollar'll buy you a cup of McCoffee, so borrow or buy a power conditioner & try it. If you hear no difference, then return the thing and you've saved some money. Boom A power conditioner can serve several purposes. The power lines that bring power to your home are generally not even insulated, they normally have corrosion protection at best but not insulation or shielding, this is one reason why you should never touch or come in contact with downed power lines, the lack of proper insulation. The power lines coming to your home are like antennas attracting noise and interference and other problems. The power lines as well as other electrical equipment in your home can create noise which may be constant or just momentary and poorly affect the audio and video of your system. A good power conditioner can help clean this noise up and shielded power cables in your system help to keep things clean further protecting your system. How many outlets does your system need? My system uses 14 outlets at just one location where the wall provides only 2 outlets, with 4 of them being amps (an XPA-2, XPA-5 and 2 subwoofers). So I use all 12 of the rear outlets my Belkin PF-60 provides at one wall outlet and I also use an Emotiva CMX-2 at the 2nd wall outlet. This provides 14 outlets at the 2 wall outlets with 4 of them working well with high current amps. I've tried and tested many forms of multi outlet sources, different power conditioners, different power strips etc. and I've found they do make a difference in the overall quality and performance of the system with some being good, some better and also some poorly affecting the system quality, you really should compare. Other power conditioner benefits can be monitoring & knowing your systems power usage, equipment isolation, surge protection, trigger and system start up control, as well as being a nice clean looking way to have many system components plugged in. As I said my system uses 14 outlets where my wall provides just 2 at just this one location. In total my system uses two Belkin PF-60's and one Emotiva CMX-2. Also I do plug my XPA-2 and XPA-5 into my Belkin PF-60's high current outputs and my 2 subwoofers are plugged into my Emotiva CMX-2 and I prefer them this way. I've done a lot of testing and comparing with different power sources and I have found that there are differences and what I prefer with my system.
One more thing even the Belkin PF-60 changed over the years with the earlier versions being much better, there were several versions and changes, the quality and features went down over time and the last versions were really downgraded significantly and nothing like the original ones.
