I have recently competed a sealed subwoofer build using a Dayton Audio UM18-22 18" Ultimax subwoofer and a Behringer NU6000DSP 2 channel amp (to add a second sub later).
If there is interest I can load up a few build photos , parts, prices ECT....
Being that there is a million sub build thread of this nature over at AVS forums thought I'd ask before spending time uploading and what not.

I'll serve as voyeur. More interested in your personal opinion of the end result of your labors.
I'm always my harshest critic.

When I see any type of audio build it's an instant click for me. Always enjoy seeing what others are doing and maybe learn a few things.
Sub builds rock Scott

Seriously, if you have the space, I would take a look at the Titans.

I have 1099’s and have been eyeballing the Titans lol The 1099's were very in your face.. (to me anyway) The 1099 sounded like it was throwing sound at you. The titan sounds MUCH bigger. Voices sound fuller without sounding "gruff". Bottom line, the titan sounds cleaner, more realistic and less fatiguing. Or was my experience. After having multiple Polk speakers, some Jtr T8's and 1099's I have found my Endgame speaker in the Titan 615lx. Plus they compliment my pair of Submaximus perfectly. Lol..

A little history first.
For years I used a single Polk Audio SW505 , then adding a second to fill in the nulls. I was happy with them for the longest time. That was until a buddy bought a SVS PB16 Ultra. I watched a few movies at his place and I was impressed, however I wasn't about to spend $2.5k for a sub and the wife surely wasn't about to let me. That is when I decided to research a home build sub. To the forums I went.
Armed with a budget and no idea what to do with it. Holy cow was there's a ton of info , it was complete overload. Martysub this , sealed sub that. Anyway long story short, I decided because of space and budget I'll be building a sealed cabinet with an UM18-22 subwoofer. I had $800 to play with. I can do this I just need some stuff....
1 sheet of 3/4" MDF $45 (cut down at Homedepot close to what I needed for easy transport.)
UM18-22 $259 on sale
Behringer NU6000DSP amp $257
One set (pair) of speakon connectors $15
One speakon receptacle $8
One tube of PL3 construction adhesive $6
One quart Duratex cabinet coating $40
10lbs polystuff $25 (didn't need that much, just thinking ahead for second sub)
Tools I needed but didn't have yet.
Circle cutting jig for router $35
3/4" round over router bit $15
3/4" straight cut router bit $15
$720
Now I had all I needed and came in $80 under budget. My budget was dictated by the after tax winnings from a slot machine I hit while out with the wife and friends one weekend. I hit and the wife immediately said, oh your going to build the woofer thingy now aren't you. Lol
Edit: The $80 left over went into a MiniDSP UMIK-1 calibrated microphone.

And all the picture links from the threads on avs are dead now.. Too lazy to pull my screen down and take new ones. I have progress pics of the submersive and Cap s2 clones I built but not even any of the finished boxes.

Mine are behind an AT screen so I think that helps attenuated the highs a tad (thts how they were designed to be behind a screen) I know you also can do a crossover mod to bring the highs down a little

Here some pictures. Pile of 3/4" MDF that was cut at Homedepot , you can see my cut lines that need to be done. The one you can see is for the window brace. Front baffle with speaker mount hole routed out. Second front baffle with hole cut out. Here is it all glued up next to a Polk Audio PSW505 12" sub. I don't have any photos of the clamp and glueing, lost those when my phone died all I have are those that I already uploaded to lensdump. All put together and running. This was in the winter so I wasn't going to finish it until spring. Speakon cable I made. Super simple , they have screw terminals no soldering needed. Had some Black stain leftover from the flex rack I made for the HT equipment. Decided to stain it black for the time being. I mounted the amp the the back of the cabinet. Six months later on a nice hot dry day I took it apart and outside we went. I put 3 coats of duratex on it(1 quart). I used a 3/8" nap roller. It has a noticeable texture. I think the next time I use Duratex I will thin it 50% to get more of an orange peel finish instead of rough texture. Duretex is real thick stuff, think pudding. It can be thinned with water. I also routed a 3/4" rounder over just before coating it. All done expect for some feet/spikes. Still deciding which one to get.

Nearfield sweep NO DSP , No room correction. No smoothing applied. Main seat with main L&R again no DSP or room correction. No smoothing applied. I am super freak'n happy with the result. Can't wait to to build a second, and get rid of the nulls.
