Hi all, besides music and movies, which helps a lot, what do you people do to fight it? Adopt a more positive attitude. Accept that sh** happens,it's just part of life, and realize that after you do what is within your power to make things better you might as well relax and let it go for now because stressing out does nothing to fix stuff. Usually things are not all bad so focus less on the bad and more on the good. Is this easy? Nope, especially not at first but it gets easier the longer you do it. Find someone to motivate you during those rough spots. There is no magic thing to make life perfect but learning not to let negativity drag you down and take control is a huge help. The more you shift focus to the positive the happier you will be and the less stress you will have. Work to identify areas of stress and reduce them. If you have negative people around you move away from them. Take time to smell the roses and eat an ice cream cone. Attitude can make a world of difference.

Well for me working in a stress filled environment of drug and alcohol fuelled violence, I find that :
BEER, BEER , BEER , BEER helps for the most part , but its the music that takes me away from reality for at least a while..

Gaming Super cool..where do they sell that contraption? I think it is even better when the sound track is on : Where to buy: I think they can be special ordered from many places... Just google "racing simulator" and see what comes up, or even "flight simulator" if airplane piloting is your thing... It also seems that adding a VR simulator to such a package can take things to an even higher level of realism:

I recently was in DISNEY and went on the Pandora Ride and the your simulator reminded me of Pandora..awesome ride should you go to Disney. I have to check out the prices. It would be nice if the simulators were able to adjust to more than one venue...flying, space, driving etc and of course if you were able to coordinate the VR with the ride. Thanks again and enjoy the ride.

My spiritual life is taking care of things, I don't want to mention what that is, as I respect the rules of the forum, I just wanted to know what people are doing to fight stress, thank you for the input.....

Me too, my faith is number one.
Video Games are helpful, so is listening to music, that is very helpful.
Even though I am a bit of an introvert, hanging with a friend or two makes things better.

Only thing that has ever been really effective is working out. Running, elliptical, etc. I essentially have had to work out 3x/week since my 20's in order to manage stress.
I have never really liked the taste of alcohol so drinking has been uninteresting to me. If I did like it, I think I would utilize beer and mixed drinks to relax.

13.6 miles on the Peloton Bike says stress is dead. On my way to my goal of a better life. Stress is left at the door.

Wow, interesting read so far. So many different ways we cope with stress. Some ways mask it so it appears to be gone, some tame it for awhile and some eliminate it as much as possible. There will always be stress-both good and bad. Prayer always and then family, friends, outdoors and motorcycles are my stress relievers depending on the situation. Much of stress is perception. One persons stress is another persons excitement!! Go figure.

As I have mentioned, my spiritual life has helped a lot, but of course I have to do my part, hey, a couple of beers here and there help, lol....then again, stepping back and looking at the whole picture, I can always thank God for the things I have, namely, my boys are great, family and friends, and so on...
