You can easily DIY 1000$ worth of rack for maybe 60% that cost. And don't forget, if you integrate your solution, you might have 'extra' stuff to SELL. That' saves space and recoups a little of what you put into the new construction. Lack of ability / knowledge / tools IS a problem. I'm not whiz at this stuff, but do improvise very well indeed. But I'd bet you do have a buddy who could help. Personally? I built a large box for ALL my BBQ stuff including ceramics, 3x20bags of charcoal and all the goodies. It is completely waterproof with a custom designed lid which overlaps on ALL sides. Water would have to flow UPHILL to get in the box. Lid closes with an air-cushion. So it can't even slam. It's on casters so I can move it AND after construction I had my 240lb buddy hop in for a ride. No problemo. My tools? Chop saw (cheapest made by Skil) and stand. A Dewalt Trim Router. Kregg Jig for pocket holes. And a selection of a few bits, sandpaper, exterior paint and a run to Harbor Freight for castors and cheap round over router bits. The lid hinges were $$ but not too bad. They are ADA compliant 'offset' type which makes my unique lid possible. For YOUR rack? I'd start with dimenstions desired of each shelf. Try to find Oak or Maple cutting boards to suit. The BOOS Blocks are Cost-No-Object but also thick heavy, end grain construction. Figure cost of all-thread legs in 3/4" or 20mm.....something in that size area. Build what YOU want.

Appears off center in the pics. Is that the case or is this just an old day of initial set up pic? Get those wires cleaned up and that will look very nice and clean.

Did you build that, or is that a Bello rack?

I saw that, and it looked promising... except that it has the shelf depth listed at 18". Is that a typo, or can you confirm a different measurement from your own rack?
Thanks

I'm probably not much help but I've got a Bello PR45. It's not set up just yet because we are still waiting to move into the new house (late Dec/early Jan). In fact, it's still in the box. The depth of the unit is 22 inches. I also just ordered an amp (Six-6-0) and have the 4500 as well. I shopped pretty extensively online before deciding on the PR45. It has lots of room and depth for all the toys.
That is almost exactly what I am looking for, Zombie. That would be fantastic... except I really didn't want to spend like $1000+.
Do you mind sharing a good deal on it? What about ventilation in that unit?

Well, can't really comment on the ventilation just yet since I haven't officially used it. I've opened the top of the box but that's it. I actually had somewhat of a hard time finding it online. One place supposedly had it but couldn't get it after I placed the order. Amazon couldn't get it either. I ended up buying it through Best Buy online. Wasn't cheap but at least the shipping was free. It's heavy, weighs about 200 lbs. The finish is also a bit darker on mine. I'm very anxious to get it out of the box and set up. It'll happen in roughly six weeks.

VTI also makes quality stands that, like Pangea, won’t break the bank and are plenty deep enough to accommodate the XPA series amps. You can find two examples of what you might be looking for HERE and HERE.

So I bought this at Frys for like $200. I have a DR-2 and a XPA-9 on the bottom shelf and it fits great.

That looks great. Is that a Bello or some other brand? Do you recall the model #?
I have a Bello stand right now that looks very similar to that style... except the depth isnt quite deep enough. The bottom shelf is like 17" deep, and I need probably at least 20ish for the Xpa-7.

Yes it was a Bello. I’ll find the model number and I’ll measure the shelves when I get home. The back is open except for the middle (that’s where the support is). I can’t put my XPA’s in the middle as it’s not quite deep enough (because of the support) so my RMC-1 now sits in the middle and the XPA’s flank it on both sides.

It is 18" but my XPA2 Gen 3 sits fine as the back is open and the feet are well less than 17". I have the XPA on the bottom, the XSP next shelf up then ERC3 and DAC and then my turntable on top. Works great.

How do you like those LRS Maggies? I have a DACMagic+ which has a little more functionality than the original. Too bad the BlueTooth Dongle is 100$ and worth 20$.

With well produced and recorded music they sound amazing. Some people say they aren't good rock speakers but albums like Led Zeppelin II and the Beatles Abbey Road sound amazing. Some CD's just sound ok. They don't seem to be as forgiving as my Klipsch RF7 IIs. For $650 though they amaze me a little more each day though. Chris Jones makes them sing!
