im not sure if I’m doing something wrong or if it’s just not possible with this model. I have other preamp/processors and you can play a normal audio CD through them and choose “All Stereo” output and get sound from your subwoofer and surround speakers. When I try to choose All Stereo on the UMC-1, it won’t allow it to be chosen. Any ideas? Thanks in advance, Tom

Thanks in advance, Tom I have a Sherbourn SR-120, which I believe essentially has a UMC-1 build in for processing, and I have the same problem. "All Stereo" has never worked for me. siggie

Thank you for the reply. But I guess where my confusion lies is that there is an option of “All Stereo”, but you can’t ever choose it?

But why do other mfg let you choose “All Stereo” or “5 channel Stereo” for analog or digital two channel sources? My old Adcom FTP650 allows it and its great for filling a large room with sound. Any of the other multi-channel music options that it does allow you to choose sound horrible imho.

But for whatever reason, the UMC just wouldn't allow it. It was probably more of a mis-naming than anything. It's the way the UMC always was and always will be.
