Those diodes may have been damaged by an ac voltage spike - if you have lightning or voltage surges in your area, maybe not such a good idea to leave powered up during storms.

Unlikely as all equipment is on three big power conditioners... However, very happy that my E gear is functioning perferctly again!

I realize these are very old posts! But, I had the internal fuse problem. I am not an Electronics expert but I was advised to increase the amperage of the internal fuse ( I believe be 1/2 amp) and it has held for four years. This was after I had the fuse replace under warranty.

Doubt it is a fuse either. If a fuse goes, end of the show. It will blow and no come back. Why did the fuse blow etc. I am thinking something suspiciously as simple as a cold or cracked solder joint somewhere. Not easy to find but can happen due to thermal stresses in electronics over the years. Sometimes takes a long time. Sometimes not. But based on the last post and the word intermittent makes me suspicious. I am not promising that is what it is but until someone puts it on the bench and tests the sub systems of the XSP-1, we all are kind of guessing. Solder these days is NOT the same as old-school Lead-Tin..... Most are lead-free and are more brittle than old formulations........ Just go to the KESTER website and browse...... Blown diodes? And several, at that? sounds like entire discrete bridge went south. I don't see this without an associated surge or even a brownout....... Fuses? Vac suggested a meter to check. YES.....and YES again.......Some low-value fuses are just beyond my old eyes and a meter is the ONLY way to confirm....

ROHs compliant solder is meh. I do like the original. Flows nice and gets the job done.

I was a victim of that stuff. My Panasonic Plasma? Needed a resolder and actually had a bad part.
Bill was a couple hundred or more......I have mercifully forgotten!
I've repaired stuff using my 'stash' of Kester which is a 63% / 37% and now apparently getting valuable.....
If I bought a VTA amp (pair of monos!) to build, I'd have a supply of the 'good stuff' going in and send off for a 15degree 'bent' tip for my Hakko......
And maybe another fine tip expressly for Board Work.....a driver board needs to be built. The standard tip should be perfect for everything else.....
