So it looks like it will be a while longer for the UMC-1. I just hope there are enough for us not on the pre-order list. If they have to rework the main PWB's it could take a month or two to get them done I would think.

At least they identified the issue and owned up to making sure things are set right before release. From a feature set / price point stance... I'm going to wait until they work out the issues...

Yippie.... Another thread about the UMC-1 release date. *Bangs head against wall*
I don't get the need for yet another thread whining about the UMC-1. There are plenty out there and new ones don't get it done any faster.

It was about this time last year that I got on the pre order list for the UMC and the word at the time was it would be ready around the holidays. A couple of months later I bought a B stock LMC and have been completely happy with it, just waiting the extra six months or so until the complex inner workings of the UMC are sorted out. My HT is not so complicated that I miss HDMI switching so the LMC has worked out really well for me. The ERC has got me listening to more music so that has helped too. Bottom line- if you planned accordingly the wait ain't so bad. I even have an old Denon AVR with pre-outs for backup if the LMC has a hiccup.

Did I miss an announcement somewhere? Is there an official posted delay message somewhere? I thought they had ID'd some issue a few weeks back but it was fixed and they still hoped to meet the June deadline for the first pre-orders...my friend who bought an XPA amp last winter expecting the UMC-1 soon thereafter is gonna kill me...he still hasn't hooked up the amp because he still doesn't have the UMC.

Did I miss an announcement somewhere? Latest News updated 06/29/09 June 29th, 2009 To all of our good friends, I know all of you have been patiently and anxiously awaiting the release of the UMC-1. We are sure you have noticed that June is quickly passing into the history books with little news regarding the release. Fear not. We have been burning the midnight oil to meet the projected release date. Unfortunately we just ran out of time. In an ongoing effort to keep you informed, we want to give you the latest update on where we are. During our final testing of the video engine, we discovered a minor issue with the DCP on the HDMI. This is really a simple fix that only requires some minor board re-work. That particular board is being re-worked as you read this and we will be back on track very soon. More news to follow…………. Your friends at Emotiva

I'm glad none of you can see me lying on the floor, curled up in pain and weeping.
Because I'm not.

We are probably looking at DAYS, not WEEKS now. You all know that the minute you buy something to hold you over, it'll be released and you'll be beating down the door. Now let's get back to more important things...like Michael Jackson updates. Oh, the humanity!

I agree with you completely! I will take this form of honesty any day of the week! I commend the Emo team for correcting any known problems prior to release! So many other vendors are releasing the products and doing steady firmware releases. This product will be met with glowing resolve by its owners! I am waiting on the xmc but still pulling for all the umc folks! Hang in there!

I don't get the need for yet another thread whining about the UMC-1. Well said. I'm sure the good folks at Emo feel the same way too. Instead of looking at the typical "where is the UMC-1???" rants, they could be using that time on product testing and implementation.
