Patience is a virtue so we must all start drinking heavily I guess. I’m sure most of us are doing OK with what we have right now. Good thing I just laid in 2 cases of Costco microbrew! Good stuff too. Well, there's a few gone already.

Well personally I`m planing on purchasing the XMC and there is no date and I don`t care I`m on the pre-order and they will email or call me when it`s ready for me and if I want to get something else while I`m waiting then I save up more $ then get that -which is better then the way I used to do things , before I never new what was coming down the road just what was available only to find out months later they came out with something that better fit my needs so I think this is better , but the way people are acting I would not be surprised if emotiva only lets people no what they have till it`s ready to ship out to people which gives me less time to plan

Predictions get made based on the best available information. Then something changes, goes wrong, or does not work out exactly as planned. This is very common in consumer electronics, and especially with complicated software-driven pieces of gear. It's just that normally the public never hears about it except maybe through some vague rumors from a trade publication. Anyone who feels personally cheated or lied to or any other such nonsense because of a release delay is really being silly and self-centered and simply does not understand how these things sometimes happen, IMO. That Emotiva made predictions that could not be met is, simply, an unfortunate byproduct of making any public predictions at all. These kinds of negative reactions is one reason we don't see more information now than we do. Whatever, do what you like. Like I said, some people apparently like to *bleep*. Others will wait until what they want becomes available. Me, I'll be happy when the new processor is released, whenever that is. It's not life or death.

Like I said, some people apparently like to *bleep*. That you can't respect that I may have a different perspective is immature and fanboy-ish!

There's big difference between having a different perspective that is respectable and having one that has NO F*CKING CLUE what product development is like.

I made the prediction several months ago that the anguish some people seem to have over delays of this and other products - and the endless sniveling it causes - would drive Emotiva to keep things a bit more secretive.
I think that strategy shows in how transparent they've become with the subwoofer projects. Whats the latest word? What? No word!
You can't take ideas mapped out on a cocktail napkin directly to the end customer and then expect them (some of them anyway) to sit quietly and wait for the promised product to come to market without a bunch of sniveling and whining.
The USP-1is a perfect example of their new strategy. We've only just heard of it a few weeks (?) ago. Can't remember exactly when it was first announced.
Personally I don't blame them for keeping us more in the dark.
And who doesn't like surprises?

Strung along what a bunch of Hooey. That you can't underrstand why I would feel strung along really amazes me. I'm glad the delay doesn't bother you, but you really can't understand why I feel strung along?? Wow!! I'll reiterate... I don't think Emotiva is intentionally trying to lead people one. But it's happening as a result of their continued broken promises that it's just around the corner. I've got a simple solution for you... stop reading threads that are obvious discussions about the delay! I'm pretty sure that I NEVER asked for a delivery date! In fact, see my post above... I suggested that they avoid giving timelines. OK I apologies for saying Hooey

There's big difference between having a different perspective that is respectable and having one that has NO F*CKING CLUE what product development is like. But this isn't about their product development process. Emotiva CHOSE to give public notice of product availability timelines. This was not a necessary part of the product development process. This is about the business model they chose.

So Emotiva includes me, a consumer, in their development cycle and ANTICIPATED release schedule, and it pisses off someone like yourself who thinks they owe him an apology for doing so when that ANTICIPATED release schedule hits bumps in the road.
Fine by me.

The one thing I'll say that is pretty annoying , and I don't think anyone here would/could disagree on this point is: On the last Emocast we were told they were planning on receiving a small shipment in house by the end of June and everyone that wants a UMC-1 were all waiting with baited breath and making silly comments here and there on a daily basis to that effect but for some reason they decided to wait until the end of June to tell anyone about this new delay when of course they knew about it at least two weeks ago or more(guess but sounds right in there). All the while I'm sitting here thinking to myself is it today? no is it today? no is it today? no. When at any point earlier in the month they could have popped on the forum and simply said "Sorry folks we hit a small snag and it looks like July will be the month we are now shooting for. " Just annoying, nothing more. I still heart EMO.

Fine by me. Where did I ask for an apology? (though one might help me feel a bit better about yet another delay ) I'm curious why you bold "ANTICIPATED" as though Emotiva never really meant for us to expect the UMC-1 at all these different times they have given.

This is gettin pretty entertaining.
Oh yeah, just because Emo is delaying the UMC-1 once again - and that PITA Onkyo 885 being so slow on HDMI switching - I just picked up that LMC-1 on ebay tonight.
Gonna sell the 885 as soon as the LMC-1 gets set up and confirmed to be working as it should.
Time for another Pale Ale. Great stuff!

I dont think anyone feels bad about the company or the product they put out I am sure they are all great guys who are doing the best they can. Frustration is inevitable with all the delays...

Well...I might hazzard a guess here in that they might have actually only found out in the past few days with those units..They have to make them bullet proof..(notice I didn't say idiot proof.. )..and if they start trying diffent things to make it fail and then actually do...well..then they have to decide if it's worth the normal gripping and complaining about another short delay.. Annoying..certainly...but don't you know it is even more so to all of them there..? Heck...they want to sell them to us..it's what they have their money invested in to do..Certainly not to have all of these delays.. I was given the oppourtunity to buy a Integra 9.8 a couple months back from a new friend from here because I couldn't wait..He understood my frustrations and took pity on me.. ;D I waited as long as I could..and if anyone else is in that boat..I suggest you wait a little while longer just to see..cause I would be even more mad at myself if I jumped on something else and then it does come out..My $.02...they waited this long to get it right..a little while longer shouldn't matter..
