lol dude....shut up... no need for personal attacks. No one ever said you can't ask questions, look around as i ask questions constantly about upcoming product. But asking questions and bitching are two different things. Some people here are like those stupid dogs that dont learn from eletric fences...they just keep on getting shocked.... P.S.- Messenger, 11 out of your 12 posts are you whining... Sorry that my whining offends you. I'll try to act more adult and take into consideration your feelings when I post. But the personal attacks comment I found funny. You guys are so far up Emo's *bleep* that you don't even know when you're being offensive to anyone who questions the Almighty Emotiva. See no name calling. Gee that was easy.

In the words of Rodney King: "Can we all please get along?"
Let's continue to ask questions, offer constructive criticisms but know and respect the difference between expressing frustrations and bitching. A person's opinion can be (mis)construed as bias, slander and bigotry. Not good.

They are just trying to defend a good company and take the heat off of them which is cool but I do understand your frustration I have absolutely nothing to listen to with some brand new speakers. It really isn't the big E's fault I am sure they are trying everything they can to get this out asap. Do you at least have something to listen to for now to pass the time? That being said seriously now hurry the *uck up with the UMC!

Maybe it hasn't been pointed out (I thought it was pretty obvious), but this is the Emotiva Lounge. You're not going to find too many people here that don't defend the company, especially when the complaints are non-constructive. I question the tact of criticizing a company on its own message board. Certainly within your right, and knowing the admins and mods here, they aren't going to censor you, but do really expect the regulars here to agree with you given the tact you've chosen? I know you're new here, but your accusation of "being up Emotiva's ass" is laughable, and anyone who regularly posts here knows that. The reason you are getting the reaction you're getting is we know what this company and the community here is about. You do not. Now what were those questions again?

I was simply pointing out that all you have done thus far is *bleep* and moan in all your posts... and like i have said MANY times, i am also frustrated with the delays...who the heck wouldn't be? But after the first thread of complaints about Emotiva delaying and people whining about it, it gets old. If complaining about it actually helped out then i would be all for it, but its way beyond that. Thread after thread does not help anything, especially when the product delay is because of a friggin issue. Its out of their hands, they want to get it to us VERY BADLY. There really is nothing else that can be said. Now quit yeeer Bitchin

Well you have just proven that you can disagree with me without throwing in an insult. BTW, the Cleveland comment had a smiley after that. That means i was just goofing with you. I'm surprised YOU didn't pick up on that. If I have a different opinion on this delay why don't you just ignore me ? Dann and crew are big boys. They can take it. Who annointed you as the one who decides what's constructive? if the complaining irritates you so much why on earth would you want a notification to your blackberry every time there is a post on a thread entitled UMC-1 WAIT CONTINUES. Why don't you just monitor another thread (or get a life.) My question/comments are actually not about herpes. If I want to know why the UMC1 isn't on my rack or why the UMC1 is late or when the UMC1 will be shipped .... Get the idea. UMC-1 UMC-1 UMC-1,... Last I knew the UMC-1 was somehow related to the Emotiva Corp.

So please consider that I haven't been privy to all the previous bitchin and whining before I joined this forum. Thanks for reading my posts. I had thought I said some good things about Emotiva but maybe not. Also, consider that I've been on the POL since the 3rd or 4th day and that I did not *bleep* after the 1st missed date or the 2nd or the 3rd or the 4th. Pretty good huh? I would like to stick it out til the end of august and purchase the umc and likely will (unless the Great Santini drives me away). But even if he does drive me to the competition I may just stay on the list out of spite as I know I'm ahead of him. ;D

Do like i did...buy Onkyo 886 for $889 on shop Onkyp and then you can have a good pre/pro with all the surround features and hdmi compatibility. When the UMC comes out, read the feedback and reviews and if you still want the UMC then sell the 886 for a minor loss and then get the UMC. Do this and watch your stress levels and the amount of times spent on here lurking go down a lot!!
Hope the UMC-1 is awesome so I can get one but I am not going nuts to assemble my system anymore because it's been done for a week now!!

I'm sooooo tempted to keep posting nonsense in this thread so littlesaints BB pages him every minute, all day. Even though thinking that someone (littlesaint in this case) would be getting a page every minute would make me smile, I'll just do it this once. ;D Carry on... Nothing against littlesaint, just the idea.

I don't think they start off being irritating. They just become that way after awhile. I've had to unsibscribe from many threads that have ended up on the road to Neverland...

Here's my take on it - Emotiva created this site as a way for owners and potential owners of their products to communicate their thoughts, wishes, ideas, and, yes, complaints about Emotiva products, personnel, business practices, and the company itself.
I believe they (Emotiva) are to be commended for being as open as they are and for not placing a jackboot upon the neck of someone who espouses an opinion or thought that doesn't toe the "party" line. This is the MAIN reason that I am still holding out in wait for my purchase of a UMC-1 - I truly like this company and the basic "goodness" of their business model and the personnel they have who implement this business model.
Another reason I support this company is because of the way I was treated by company personnel when I had trouble with both of the XMC-1s that I purchased. The products had some serious problems and the folks at Emotiva went out of their way in an attempt to correct those problems.
Alas, they were not able to resolve the excessive sibilance I found present in both units, but they DID do everything humanly possible to fix the other issues I encountered with both units. Bravo!
I'm an old-timer when it comes to home audio and video products - I bought and assembled a Heathkit AR-15 receiver back when I was 13 years old. I also sold hi-end hi-fi "back in the day" (late 70s - early 80s) and I can tell you that Emotiva ranks among the top 2 or 3 mfgrs. I've worked with that exhibited such a caring attitude for their customers. McIntosh was one of those companies, and for me to be equating Emotiva's customer service up alongside McIntosh's should be considered quite a compliment - especially since Emotiva does not have anywhere near the profit structure built-in to the pricing of their products. They DO have those cool blue lights just like the Macs, so they definitely got that going for 'em!!
However, LittleSaint, I believe that you need to re-assess your opinion of the "tact" of a poster who submits a message critical of Emotiva. As long as the criticism is based upon fact and stays within the boundaries of good taste (and punctuation and grammar, Goddammit <g>) I see NO reason why it should generate any controversy or be waylaid by the Moderators.
Honest criticism is a benefit to Emotiva and also allows folks a chance to vent frustration in a sane, controlled manner.
Frankly, I'm somewhat distrubed by this latest setback and sure hope that Emo can solve the problem(s) quickly and finally get this product into our eager little mitts.
What was that??!! I just heard a knock on the front door and, as Gomer Pyle used to say "Surprise, surprise, surprise!" My brand spanking new Oppo BDP-83 was sitting on my doorstep and I'm just about to peeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee like a puppy - Blockbuster will definitely be seeing me tonight, I can't wait to fire that bad boy up!!!
Perhaps Emotiva should consider doing a raid on Oppo's Engineering staff, that's one company who really has their sh!t together when it comes to providing super high-quality products at a reasonable price, ON TIME and under budget....

I am not one of those people that have been waiting for a UMC-1 for over a year, but I am patiently waiting (trying!) for the manual (first, I assume) and then the device itself. (Personally I think that Emotiva has a right to release their stuff whenever they want, no matter what our wishes are. They're beholden to their shareholders, not to us. It just happens to be that most of the time if we're not happy, the shareholders aren't happy. That said, I don't find waiting easy, but it's a fact of life. Delays are to be expected in this industry.)I just bought myself a used Proceed BPA-3 to go along with my used Rotel 1075 and my very used Linn 5140/5120/5110 speakers. (I can't afford any of this stuff new!) My wife was astounded when I packed the Rotel away (temporarily), because I don't have any need of it until I get a processor. "Why did you buy that new amp when you don't need it yet?" ;D ;D But now I'm ready with 7.1 speakers and 7 channels of amplification, and my 5.1 receiver is holding me over until I get a processor. I'd really like the XMC-1, but I don't think I can wait that long (I want the phono input and balanced outs). So now I'm waiting on the UMC-1 and the new Outlaw (too bad Outlaws are so UGLY). Too bad the 40% discount upgrade policy doesn't work between low end and high end product lines! I can't wait to pore over the manual, and then to hear reviews of these splendid devices. I'm not an early adopter, so you guys will have to tell me how good this stuff really is! What am I really looking forward to? My receiver doesn't do HD at all, so I'm looking forward to some HD switching. I'm looking forward to 7.1 surround. And I'm looking forward to Dolby Volume! I really need that sound modeling or whatever Dolby calls it that helps with listening at low volumes. I just hope the sound quality is there in such an inexpensive device. If absence makes the heart grow fonder, does not-present-yet do the same? PS - I photoshopped a UMC-1 to give it the black accents, and I think it looks nice! See this post: emotivalounge.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=updates&action=display&thread=3740&page=3#82562

I think RLW put it very well.
Emotiva has set and missed delivery date after after delivery date. They deserve to hear the frustrations of their customers. As much as some of you don't want to hear it over and over, it speaks louder and louder to Emotiva everytime a new thread is started and they hear from potential new customers, how frustrated they are to have been anticipating a product and not have it available as promised. Customers are buying other products in lieu of an Emotiva product. It's sad and not good for business.
I understand Emotiva is trying very hard to get the product done, but it doesn't take away from customer frustrations.
