Topping D10. This little DAC cost me about 70 bucks from MassDrop.. sounds fantastic. Running USB from Laptop to DAC (to stream Tidal)..then to RCA input on the XSP-1. I streamed Tidal for a couple of hours and it does a superb job. Really nice detail. Couldn't be happier.

Monday started out pretty normal, but things went to hell on my way back to the office from lunch. This was a 2016 F-150 XLT. Traffic came to a sudden stop on the interstate. I had to brake fairly hard, but stopped unscathed. The dude behind me swerved into the breakdown lane and shot past. Poor guy behind him never saw it coming and slammed into me doing who knows how fast. Punched me into the car in front of me, who then hit the next one in line, resulting in slight damage to the rear quarter of that car. I guess the guy in front of me had warrants or deportation orders on him, or something, because he fled the scene. This is Albuquerque after all. Highest uninsured rate in the country. Breaking Bad wasn't too far off! Modern technology at work here. The guy that hit me and I were not injured one bit. I have a seat belt bruise and hacked up airbag smoke and dust for a few hours, but I wasn't even sore the next day. The frame crumpled on the rear of the truck, soaking up energy from impact. Same for the front of the truck. Plastic, steel and aluminum can be replaced. Gotta keep the carbon based units safe. GEICO is awesome, they already gave me a fair settlement on the totaled truck. So I'm taking a Lyft across town Saturday morning to pick this up. Chalmers Ford was awesome too. No games with the finance office. No hard sell for "paint sealer" or "fabric protector". No hidden fees or other monkey business. Kudos to them and Geico. Double kudos to the engineers at Ford Motor Company!!

Hi Boom- very nice purchase. I’m bouncing back and forth between the Denafrips Terminator and the Audio-gd R-7HE. I have to get off the pot or never sleep again. 😳

I love driving a full size F150 for exactly this reason.
Last year traded the '15 XLT for the current '18 Lariat and love it. The 3.5 EB is our 3rd truck with that engine and it's been outstanding. Scott

New guitar strings!!! Ok, pretty lame, but a nice way to spend a beautiful afternoon on the front porch AND beer is involved! Great looking guitar, love the blue! Hope you tuned it before you started on the beer. (Your B might end up being more like a B flat ..... hope the beer doesn't go flat!)

McIntosh MC462 - Stereo Amplifier
Monday I took a ride to Binghamton NY to Audio Classics to hear some different amps mated with Legacy Audio speakers as I own the Legacy Whisper XDS and it’s important to me to hear how an amp interacts with my tweeters and mids. The results were clear and obvious to my ears after auditioning four different amps.
The winner by a margin was the Mark Levinson mono blocks at a price tag of $50,000 for a pair. Out of the question due to price.
Next was a monster Krell class A amp not sure of model number. Eh. Sounded ok but didn’t wow me at all.
There was a dead tie between the McIntosh MC462 and the MC611 mono blocks. They sounded warm, detailed and full and painted the illusion of the instruments being in the room through the Legacy speakers. At an additional $7,000 for the mono blocks there was no way to justify them over the MC462. Honestly I would probably fail a blind test between the two setups as they were voiced the same and both seemed to offer endless headroom.
The amplifier is still breaking in but frankly the McIntosh/Legacy combo seems to be a sonic matchup that my ears really enjoy.

Hope you tuned it before you started on the beer. (Your B might end up being more like a B flat ..... hope the beer doesn't go flat!) Thanks Chuckie, “Lake Placid Blue”, first appeared on a 1958 Cadillac, and was one of the colors available in 1965 when I bought this guitar new. Mine actually started out “Sunburst” which was all I could afford back then. I’ve refinished it three times over the 54 years I’ve owned it, natural, black, and then did the LPB about seven years ago, not easy because it’s actually a metal flake, but came out pretty well. The beauty of electronic tuners! You can get the guitar in tune even after you've tuned yourself a bit! 😎🍻
