Today's yard-sale purchase: Teac Reel-to-Reel deck with a huge box of tapes. I won't even tell you the price lest you hate me even more... LOL Where's the photo? We love photos!

Freya +
Stoked to see how it integrates with the Legacy Wavelet DAC/DSP. I LOVE that you can turn the tubes on/off; will be a nice A/B comparo and I think some recordings will benefit more than others. Scott

Boomzilla, very nice buy!
I bought one of the 4000 series Teac's many years ago, 1970. Can't remember the exact model number. I bought it at a super great price when I was in Tokyo on a 10 day military vacation from Ft. Lewis. Got it across the street from Yakota air base outside of Tokyo at a Japanese electronics store called Pony's. I'm so sorry now I sold it!

Tape seems to be making a revival (along with most analog stuff). I think I'll opt to flip this item rather than to keep it. After all, I'll probably need the money to pay for that Audio-gd DAC!

While projects at the house are still in progress, I was persuaded to make the commitment toward Atmos/DTS:X immersive channels with a deal I couldn't pass up at this weekends Emotiva Open House. I was one of the lucky raffle winners of Emo-Bucks and added that to the weekend Attendee discount. Thus the XPA-7 Gen 3 with the 7 High-Powered Single-Channel Modules.

While at the Emotiva Open House on Saturday I took advantage of the XMC-1 trade-in and ordered an RMC-1L. Now the wait for my shipping label. I may even get to go watch mine get built!

Been thinking about this or a Freya S. Please give us a review when you can. Will do. It's a bit easier since my travel schedule has lightened up considerably and shouldn't get busy again until January.
I'm most interested in sonic benefits (of course) but also a low noise floor given the tube stage. Scott

Since others are showing their Emotiva Tech Day purchases, I'll show mine complete with the unboxing photos. And, I was told that if I didn't show unboxing pix, it didn't exist. And, if a $50 CMX-2 isn't worthy of the full strip tease, I don't know what is! So, here it is... The $50 box... The box is held closed with some very high quality, clear packing tape, but it cuts easily even with a dull old kitchen knife. Upon opening the end, I find an inner foam box...very vivid white, firm foam. Speaks volumes to high quality contained inside. Removing the foam box reveals how truly beautiful and high quality the foam is and how well it secures the CMX-2 inside. I mean, really...behold... And! It gets better...the CMX-2 AND its cord are wrapped in high quality plastic for further protection. There's even a special little packet of candy inside! Can't wait to try it! And finally...the CMX-2 and its cord in their pristine $50 state. Lovely... It's lovely...truly lovely, and for just $50. What a deal! But, I don't advice trying the candy. It was pretty tasteless and left me REALLY thirsty. Mark

I've been looking for an older CD player, not a DVD/BR player that also 'does' CD, just a single tray player, preferably an older one, and finally found a nice CD player earlier today. It took me a year to buy this one. Long story short, I went to a small town where a girl friend of mine used to live 7-8 years ago. Every Oct on the second weekend of the month Lind holds their annual yard sales. We went last year. I had bought a Marantz DVD player that had a remote last year. Next to the Marantz was what I thought was a DVD player, a Denon. I bought the Marantz because it had a remote, the Denon did not. The seller wanted $15 for each, and since I was down to my final $20 bill I could only buy one, hence the Marantz. ...snip... A screamin’ 2TB external SSD ... Nice! I have a 500gb SSD for the operating system, and a 1tb ssd for music and document storage. My latest purchase is this: OK, so I received the tube amp today and boy does it sound good. I'm playing it with my $5 Denon DCD-1500 and combination sounds very nice. I'll take some pics of this duo in action after I get things permanently (yeah, right!) situated in the audio rack. I'm using the Polk speakers right now and it does sound nice. I'll try the Song Towers out too, "just in case!" I like the remote for this amp, volume up and volume down and mute, three buttons! What else does one need? The volume knob could use a little light to give you an indication of where the volume is ATM! I have to get off my duff to change input source but that's easy enough.
The amp looks to be very well made, it's heavy at over 50 pounds, and puts out 45w per side in ultralinear, and 25wpc in triode mode. I've only used ultralinear for now. Heck, I've only been listening for an hour so far! Bass response is very good, mids are what you'd expect with a tube amp, rich, the best part IMO. The highs are right there. If it don't break I think I'll have this for a long time!
Here's the link to the integrated amp I bought. And here is a pic 'lifted' off the internet from China Hi-Fi: You can buy this amp on Amazon, I chose to forgo paying my governor another $95 (and saved myself over $150) by getting this from China Hi-Fi. Took 10 days to get here, for the inquiring minds. No excise/import taxes due either.
