I "purchased" a repair to my VPI Traveler TT and a professional install for my Hana EL cartridge.
I listened at the dealer to Devore Fidelity O/93 speakers with a Rogue Audio Cronus Magnum and my Traveler TT.
On the one LP we listened to (DMB Crash) it sounded amazing. Definitely a good "purchase".

I'm going to go in a different direction. I have been using Emotiva Equipment since 2008. XPA 1's,USP 1, ERC3, 2 ultra 12's, that failed because of cheap amps and I still have all those less the subs, and just ordered a XSP 1 last week. I have also ordered several different systems for my grown kids from Crutchfield and if I can say anything about Emotiva, Dan and Kathy need to take a trip over to Va. to Crutchfield to see how they do customer service. I still can't get a definitive shipping date on my new preamp even though it's in stock and it doesn't show up in my account. With Crutchfield as soon as you place an order it is in you account online and it ships the next day. Dan, how hard can this be?

I won’t win a pissing contest on this forum so I’ll be eating my Bad investment and not spending anything here. Other options are available and I’ll get something when I spend my $1,200.00!

You won't get HUM because a turntable is too close to a speaker. You get HUM when the turntable is too close to a power transformer or a power line... Or when the cables between it and the phono preamp, or the preamp itself, are too close to one of those... Hum is the 60 Hz power line frequency leaking into the cartridge or some of the preamp circuitry - which is quite sensitive to it. You can also get hum if there are grounding issues between the turntable, the phono preamp, and your other gear.
The reason that phono gear is sensitive to hum is that the signal it's working with is about 1000x lower at 60 Hz than a normal audio signal. The cartridge puts out a very tiny signal - to which the phono preamp then applies a HUGE boost... And, because of the RIAA EQ curve which is applied by the phono preamp, low frequencies are boosted even more than high frequencies... As a result, if even the tiniest amount of hum, or other low frequency noise, gets into that system, the results tend to be audible.
What you tend to get if the turntable is too close to a speaker is usually some sort of acoustic feedback... The sound from the speaker causes the turntable, or the surface of the record itself, to vibrate... This vibration is picked up by the cartridge, boosted by the phono preamp, and ends up coming out of the speakers... Basically, the combination of record and cartridge acts like a giant microphone... picking up vibrations from the air.
Those vibrations are picked up, amplifier by the phono preamp, played through the speakers, and the cycle repeats itself...
The sound can come directly through the air, or the floor, or whatever your turntable is sitting on...
Depending on the exact situation the result can be anything between a roar, a howl, and a scream... But it is rarely a steady 60 Hz hum... And the solution usually involves mechanical isolation...
Isolation from airborne vibration usually means moving the turntable further from the speakers...
Isolation from vibration in the floor, or whatever the turntable is sitting on, usually involves things like isolation feet, and noise-isolating shelves...
Welcome to the joy and the challenge of vinyl reproduction.
My TT is almost a foot away from my tower and I’ve never had a hum from it. My speed control box is at the maximum distance away from the TT as the cable will allow.

If Crutchfield would sell Emotiva they will add 100% margin to pay for all the perks from them. You pick what’s important to you

I liked the Arylic S50 Pro streaming Preamp / DAC ($199) so much that I bought the Arylic A50 streaming amplifier for $165. it does everything the S50 Pro does except no digital outputs but it has a 50 watt (class D of course) amplifier built in. It has analog line out also, so I can use it as a streaming preamp in one of my audio systems or pack it up with a couple of small speakers for vacation. This thing is really tiny. Now, I have these things in two of my audio systems and guess what? They can be synched to each other to play the same music just like multiroom amps do.

Is it redemption? Is it part of my workflow more than Android never could be. This can now be a portable Cine-camera where big is out. My professional audio connection with many named companies is assured. Middle of this Month, Android is dead to me and IOS is my carry. My New iPhone 12 Pro Max. Coming middle December.

Sonic Immersion VT200 IBEAM Transducer Very impressed so far. Need to figure out how XMC2 routes subs and LFE using Dirac to determine best way to configure. Low end is 20hz and it really punches hooked up to my Carver M1.0t right channel. Very discrete. Mounted under my theater seat it adds great effect, yet you barely feel it in the seat my wife sits in. Thinking of XLR y cable for right and Center output to subwoofer run thru Dirac. Then removing u cable and dropping in VT200 for center. Run center curtains 20 to 180. Should I run top end higher? Do I leave unmatched L & R subs as is dual mono and just drop in VT200 as center LFE or run it as mono itself? Thoughts? I may eventually run second VT200 to the other theater seat using a y cable or ditching the smaller sub on left channel. Gotta say...I tried to get PA1 couple weeks prior to black Friday sale; never saw an email about availability. Black Friday announced availability and none available that same day early. Ordered class D 200watt ice amp and case online for powering VT200; meanwhile using Carver M1.0t and it is awesome...even after 35 years of ownership!

The XMC-2 has arrived! I'm letting it warm up a bit before hooking it up. I don't want to be tempted to turn it on while it's still cold and risk effects of condensation. Mark
