Just purchased my Dirac License... I am very curious how Marantz is doing with the new line. I used to be a Marantz dealer, and wondering your impressions.

I use the Tri-Core Module in dark cherry for my components, bought it from Crutchfield during the whole Covid ordeal. My triple is still going strong... here it is from 2015 when I had the itch to upgrade my B&W 804 Nautilus speakers. I purchased her February 10th, 2010 from Amazon. When we moved in 2019 I brought it down; however, I gifted it to my parents and they still use it today... 13 years old and it still looks great!

Quick and painless upgrade... new CPU replaced a 6 year old processor in my NAS / Roon Core / Media Server.

I hope my 2022 Durango serves me as well as yours has! I’m sure that it will! Generation two was a very undesirable Durango. The new ones are awesome. My 2015 R/T has 220k miles and going strong. Still feels almost new.

I have a new Magnepan CCR speaker (3 Ohms) and it plays down to about 150Hz. I have two Magnepan DWMs (4 Ohms) that play 50-300Hz. They are intended to be used for - among other things - providing the low end for this or the CC5 center speaker. A DWM has a high pass output that crosses at 200Hz. I can just play the CCR on its own and cross it to bass management at 100-200Hz, or I can connect it to one DWM and use the high pass output, and cross at 60-80Hz. Or, I can wire the two DWMs in parallel and run the CCR from the high pass of one of them. These three options present a 3, 4 or 2 Ohm load to the Nord Three 1ET7040SA Purifi amp that I just got to drive the center. The 1ET7040SA is rated at 2 Ohms and in fact I've read the only good reason to get this version vs the previous is its ability to drive a 2 Ohm load. So .... I got this AC Infinity Airplate and a double fan, connected a third fan, and put the temperature sensor on top of the Nord Three amp. The Nord Three on the right has the single fan and the Nord One which drives my fronts has the double fan. I'm going to run some tests and monitor the temperatures and see what happens. Pardon the dust

Pardon the dust Sorry, I'm not a Governor so I don't have the jurisdiction for pardoning. But, I am a huge fan of AC Infinity I've got a few of the setups with that control I used to use with a few amps that are not in the system anymore. They are silent except for when they need to be more aggressive per how I set them to operate. Does the Nord even heat up at all? I thought they're supposed to stay pretty cool? I'm curious because I will probably feel the need to get a new amp for my center speaker. I'd like a Class D, and the Hypex Nilai 500 Mono Block is at the top of the list right now.

Yeah Class D runs cool. Barely went up 3-4 degrees in a whole night of TV. I just want to see if I see a difference running full range at 2 Ohms. And it can't hurt to keep an amp cool. The Nord One is NC500 Hypex ... a few new models now so more choices of power, etc. I picked the Purifi for my center just because even Bruno says the Purifi is the best sounding amp he's done.

I turned on the amps and waited a while before turning on the heat. The Nord Three slowly crept up to 71 degrees at idle, and the fans were not running. So with this little test ... 5 degrees above ambient at idle, and another 4-5 degrees above idle after a couple hours of watching video, with the fans running 1/3 to 1/2 speed. BTW I like the Smart setting on the Airplate controller that anticipates a bit and puts the fans on low speed when temperature starts to rise but well before the set point. Not sure if it's "PID" control but it's better than what we used to call "Bang-Bang" control. p.s. ChatGPT confirmed the Airplate DOES use PID ... then gave me a complete description of the three methods

I've forgotten how they are setup.

This thing is da shiz! For about $40, you can transfer flammable liquids like gasoline with no spills, no leaks, and no post-transfer flush needed. I got mine from Home Depot. Works like a charm (but the transfer rate slows as the batteries age, and don't expect to transfer more than about 15-20 gallons before needing new batteries).
