In the old days, you bought a flashlight, (or found one in the drawer,) lol.
When you found it, you would bang on it with your fist to get the thing to light up… Something that you would do most of the time you were using it.
Now, getting a flashlight is a high-tech exercise, and with the death of brick and mortar you can’t just walk into a store and buy one… If you do that you’re doomed.
Anyway, after a weekend of intermittent online browsing, I finally came up with this one……
If you walk a dog at night, you have to stop screaming and cursing at the flashlight And step up to the plate and buy one once and for all! Forgive my rant lol. Here it is .
"sofirn SP35T Tactical...". My latest purchase…..A SECOND SP35T!! I had to get a SECOND one after a one week test run…..too important and useful to be without. I believe this is the best practical flashlight you could possibly get your hands on for any price. Of all the devices I have that run on batteries, I’m now convinced that rechargeable flashlight is the way to go. Nothing bothers me more than a flashlight with half dead batteries While you hemhaw about going out to buy another set, no more lol  |

I have been thinking about upgrading my very old Samsung 12" laptop, and BestBuy came up this crazy sales going on the newer Samsung Book3. On a whim I got the 13.3" model (thanks to the thin bezel is just a bit wider on the long side than the old 12", but lighter and much thinner):
It is not easy to find laptops with a screen smaller than 14" at a decent price (or they are severely under powered). At $549.99 this is a steal, especially considering it comes with an AMOLED display, The viewing angle is crazy good and the color rendition excellent. Despite how thin it is, there is no flex at all in the body and the keyboard has a very good feel. Very happy with the purchase.
If interested, BestBuy is running a sale on a few of the models in the family, including those with larger screen and/or more powerful processor, more RAM and larger SSD.
I found other laptops at similar price, like the HP Envy and Microsoft Surface, but with older processor or smaller SSD and most definitely NOT with an AMOLED screen. Considering that the Samsung has a 13th gen Intel i5 and a 512GB HDD as well, for me it was really a no brainer.
No affiliation with either BestBuy or Samsung, just happy I lucked out on this deal.
Now, on to installing Linux Mint for a dual-boot do-it-all configuration!

Picked up a Solo Stove Mesa XL table top "fire pit". how do you like it I have the solo bonfire it works great no smoke after you get it burning hot. I have the fire pit tools and the sticks all good quality. Mitch |

Mitch It's actually better than anticipated... so much so, that we picked up extra wood, pellets and the heat deflector; order should arrive tomorrow. Wife surprised me and ordered their new gas Pizza Oven... yup... we've been bitten by another bug!! |

Nice.
I was looking at the wood burning pizza oven never picked one up yet. My son has the gas oven he made pizza's Christmas eve they were awesome, I think they baked in like a minute or two.
Enjoy, looking forward to opinion on the pizza.

Came today JUST as I had to take a break from processing my 12,000 photos from Antarctica! If there was ever an album that always ever needed an Atmos mix - even 50 years before Atmos! Not that I have had any particular emotional connection with this album, but I had to get the uncompressed Atmos, 96/24 5.1 and 192/24 Stereo Bluray version ... yeah, separate from that $325 box set that nobody has ... and only $24. Atmos mix is SO good! Startling sometimes, even knowing what's coming. And then ... the voices IN my head! Amazing what they got out of those 50 year old analog tapes ... even some 20Hz bass that sure was NOT on the vinyl version.   |

Synology NAS failed to connect to the network Monday morning then went downhill into a blinky light state. It was 7 years old and has been running 24/7 all that time. 8 drives and 25TB data! Two-disk redunancy plus a full backup in a separate box. While waiting for Synology Support to respond I ordered two new boxes - newer model - from B&H which came overnight. Synology suggested steps I already did ... pull the drives and cables and try to start ... no luck. So the process is ... pull the drives and install them in the exact order in the new boxes (with the power off) then start it up. It said Ready to Migrate ... I said go ... in about 10 minutes it was up and running. Remembered the drive names, configuration and even the last backup status. A ringing endorsement to Synology NAS boxes as well as Wester Digital Red drives!    |
