New Fosi V3 Mono amps integrated into the system and other amps shuffled around to make optimum use of all the power. From Top right: Nord One L/R; North Three Center; Fosi V3 Top Rear; PA-1 Right DWM; Crown XSi800 Rear Surround; Outlaw 7500 Surround, Top Front, Left DWM. Now all balanced too! Those Fosi amps look so tiny. Funny thing is I reconnected five channels yesterday and the polarity was wrong on every one! Somehow over the years the speaker ends all got switched. REW is handy for checking polarity with the impulse response. Crown, PA-1 and Fosi amps don't have triggers so they all plug into a switched outlet strip that senses the Nord Three to switch them on. Yeah ... dusty down there!

Those are actually quite nice sounding... they're sort of like mini-Magneplanars. Actually a couple of weeks ago. They sound great on the desktop.

Recently someone mentioned them in another audio forum so I thought I'd look for them again. I found several on E-Bay, most going for $150-$200 on up but this was $28 plus $10 shipping. What a bargain, and they are in like-new condition, too. They sound great!

I've been looking for a used JL Audio CR-1 crossover for quite some time to make a true 2.1 system. I just couldn't justify the cost of a new one. Especially since I wasn't sure what kind of bang for the buck I'd get. Then on another thread, maybe a Boomzilla's Journey post, Leonski mentioned the Marchand XM66 Electronic Crossover. After some research, I decided to give it a try. It arrived last week just before a last minute trip to the Bronx to visit an upset customer. Over the weekend I installed it and must say it made me totally forget the trip and exhaustion of getting home at 1AM Saturday morning. This was easily the best $1200 I've spent on audio in a very long time. It has made both my Maggies and my subwoofer sound better. Finally, the sub disappears and it seems as though the bass is effortlessly pouring out of the Maggies. The damping control was also a nice feature and big help in getting the bass response I've always wanted in my 2 channel listening. BTW, in fair disclosure, that pic was pulled off the internet. I'm at work and didn't take a pic at home to share.

Lawn care service raised their rates again and I need some additional exercise, so I dumped the service and picked up a 4 gallon backpack sprayer, liquid fert and the asscoicates "ides"... pest, fungi, and herbs.

Lucky for me I didn't have to actually PURCHASE the turbo unit ... it was covered by warranty. But this hopefully solved the mystery of a symptom that has happened five times since April under very unique circumstances, and yet online searches failed to point to a specific solution. I bought an OBD scanner and saw a "turbo waste gate permanently closed" error, but all errors clear if the car sits overnight. The dealer spent two days trying to figure out a solution that wasn't the turbo ... then finally ordered one and installed it yesterday. But here's the fun part ... It was around 2pm and I wondered how it was going so I tried to connect my AcuraLink app and it wouldn't connect ... hmmm battery disconnected? Then a little after 3 I could see the hood was up, and I noticed the odometer hadn’t changed and range was 104mi. And then when I looked at 3:50 the hood was down, odometer the same, range 94mi so engine had been running a while, and the location showed the car outside the shop in the parking lot to the right. I waited and 10min later the service agent called to tell me it was ready. I said “I knew that” and proceeded to tell him I’m probably the ONLY guy who used AcuraLink to follow the progress of a repair … blew his mind I think. When I picked it up a different guy was at the desk and I told him and he was like “wow … so somebody might call us and say ‘hey, why aren’t you working on my car!’” I think it made him nervous!

I haven't bought a watch in a year or two, being more discriminating in my choices .... and seemingly fewer interesting Kickstarters. But this one caught my eye. I have two other Xeric NASA-themed watches. This is the Artemis ... comes in seven colorways limited to 999 each.

It's a wrap! I've had the Sigma 500mm f/5.6 lens since April but it took this long for a company to make a vinyl wrap for it. I wrap all my bodies and lenses to keep them scratch-free and add some grip. I also especially like to use a white wrap on large telephotos because they tend to be out in the heat ... like when I go up the Amazon in Peru next March. I usually buy from ALPHAGVRD but this one came from Life+Guard. This one was a little complicated and took over an hour and a half. Usually lenses take an hour, but bodies take take up to two.

Hi all, new to the forum here and ran across this thread and thought I would jump in. I am brand new to Emotiva products so I started small with a TA1 to use in my office. I just ordered an MR1L to replace my family room receiver. I am very curious as to how I will like it compared to my outgoing Yamaha thats over a decade old.
Unfortunately I cannot seem to post photos here directly so I am guessing you have to have some secret decoder ring or know the special handshake to make that happen.

I know, I know, this isn't real exciting but I bought this dryer vent coupling to cleanup behind my clothes dryer. www.magvent-dryervent.com/If only you saw the boring stuff Amazon has been delivering to MY house this week! But I was just thinking, it's a lot of fun to be able to think about a problem or project, imagine a solution, try to figure out what to CALL the solution, search for it ... and have it within two days!
