Hi, I'm having a issues with my XMC-2 using my PS4 and PS5. I can't get it to consistently get a video signal, sometimes I can sometimes it doesn't. My Nintendo switch always seems to work. Also on the PS5 I can't get it to do 2160p res. It will says "The connection HDMI device doesn't support HDR in 2160p resolution, so HDR will be turned off. (and if I click yes it is only be in 1080p res). I'm using the hdmi cable that came with the ps5 and I tried my Monoprice Certified Premium High Speed HDMI Cable part number 15429 and I can't get the monoprice one to even show video on screen as of yet. (they both work directly to my tv with is a oled 4k tv). Thanks in advance if anyone has any advice on this. New Xbox showing up for me today. I'm crossing my fingers that nothing bad happens.

Active cables take power from the HDMI source. I have had no problems with LG but it is entirely possible for this to cause issues. Ruipro has a power injector that takes power from the USB. So, if there are issues, then try one of those. - Rich Yes I know.. But what I ment was that Emotiva must follow HDMI standards on how much power it delivers on the HDMI outputs. So there must be issues on all other brands with long cables in that case. Why then make cables that work out of specs?!? How can they then be certified? Or is there a hardware fault in Emotivas HDMI? Active cables "power steal" and are not certified. The power inserter was not created for Emotiva but anyone having issues. - Rich

Anyone else experiencing audio+video dropouts regularly with the XMC-2? I have firmware 2.1. Using a new AppleTV 4K, I get dropouts randomly and often that last about 5-10 seconds, which creat a very frustrating experience. Any advice? I am guessing new HDMI cables will be the first attempted solution, but anything else I should attempt if/when new cables doesn't fix the issue?

I am new here and need advice. Two questions: One, I have the XMC-2 and I cannot figure out how to make the adjustments I make, for instance to bass, treble or levels save so that the next time I turn it on all of these adjustments are present. Two, where do I go to make video adjustments to resolution, etc.? Has anyone made a small guide, I did not know the learning curve would be so steep!

Paul You make Permanent changes in speaker settings levels. But after calibration you shouldn’t mess with calibrated settings. Use temporary trim settings instead. Emotiva does not have any video options. It’s a switch only, meaning it simply pass it through to the display. You’ll have to make resolution changes in the player.

You know guys... I'm sorry, but all this hoo-hah about the 40% cards is getting to be a bit silly... It's a bit like an uproar if Ford finally stopped honoring a promotion they ran with the Model A.
Those cards were never intended as an investment scheme... (But, then, neither was BitCoin, and that's gotten a bit out of hand too.)
They were a gift we gave out to loyal customers who purchased an early processor... They were intended as both a loyalty gift and an incentive to upgrade when the next processor was available...
And we have continued to honor them...
- long after we stopped selling the product they came with - and long after that product went out of warranty And we've given everyone plenty of warning to make plans to use one if they still have it...
This is beginning to feel like a scene in the next new Mad Max movie... Where some guy is complaining that a coupon he has for a free pizza delivery, found in the hands of a skeleton in the desert, is expiring. Or maybe it's a coupon for one free ticket to the iMax showing of Rocky 426...
(Heck... even the restaurant gift cards that you actually pay full price for have an expiration date.)
And we figured that you guys would be happy to know that we won't run out of too many products this holiday season... And, yes, things like making podcasts have been made a bit more complicated by the whole CoVid thing... And, yes, we do have a bunch more new products in the works...
(And, yes, to a point, with life being more complicated now, sometimes we do prefer to focus on interesting new gear rather than PodCasts...) And, yes, the first of the RMC-1 expansion modules are getting quite close... The electronics are actually done and we're just fiddling with the metalwork details... So they will be coming quite soon...
We haven’t heard much of anything except that Emotiva doesn’t sympathize one bit about the 40% off cards expiring. We also heard that they are overflowing with product. That and they have a set of headphones for sale. Nothing else going on that Emotiva has mentioned. I may have missed something, again. Like when I missed the podcast and didn’t hear about it for almost a month. Like I said, I may have missed something even though I check in almost daily. That's actually easy to answer. Some people have been planning to use the card on a new generation box but were waiting until the units were stable and complete. Now they are left with what is effectively Hobson's Choice. That is all. Except IMO you should also announce the expiry in text on your website.

I do not like using microphone calibration systems in that due to particular hearing quirks I have, these systems never sound right to me. I would rather make these settings on the fly and have them remain there for the next time I turn on the system. Your telling me that this isn't possible correct?

Like on this forum where it was stated that he didn’t car and to enjoy? In print where it states that the card is good for “Generation 3 or higher”? Isn’t higher actually the next generation? At least? So it would be good on any future purchase. 🤔 I had plans to support and upgrade into the future. I had No intention to sell them, now? Now I’m taking offers with little to no hope. One was going to be a Christmas surprise for the Mrs system. Now???

That’s a simple way to do bass and treble increase permanent. If measured of course the PEQ is even better to use..

Hi all,
I tried to do a few searches on this topic but didn't find anything, sorry if I missed another thread on it.
I've had an XMC-2 for many months now, and one thing I've noticed is that it seems to "cold boot" (like the 30-60 startup sequence) nearly all the time, even though I have my standby mode set to "Video Remains On". My expectation would be that in this mode, I'd get a fast startup time. And if I just power off the unit with the front panel power button, it powers right back on like I would expect, straight to the "Re-think High-End" front panel visual and then into normal "On" mode.
However, most days I have the unit sitting in standby until after work hours, at which point it has been off for say, 16-20 hours, and then it starts up with a full cold boot as though I had flipped the mechanical power switch on the back of the unit. Not all days, but most days... sometimes I feel like it just boots up quickly, but it's by far the exception not the norm. Any ideas why this would be? Is there another setting I should check/set?
Needless to say I have no desire to be waiting through a cold boot every day and the WAF/SAF on this behavior is rapidly approaching zero.
Would love any insights or help on this!

Which Firmware version is installed? Is CEC Enabled? Are you using the Emotiva Remote?

Firmware is 2.1. CEC is not enabled. I am not using the Emotiva remote, I'm using a Logitech Harmony Elite.

Hi! I'm new here because I bought my Xmc-2 a month ago and I need some help. Can you tell me why I'm not able to turn on loudness? The user manual says that XMC-2 has this function but I can't find it in the menu. Any ideas?

Mine does this from time to time. I'll go to push the button and it will begin to start and then do a full reboot as if it was power cycled. I don't have a positive comment. There are new headphones to buy though ☺

But, in the meantime... You can pick up some new headphones for Christmas.
