Not really. my speakers are 4 channels, each with their own amp's with speakon connectors on the cables. I will need to re-wire either the amp or the speaker internally. but worth the try

The XLR pinout of the XMC-2 is the same as XMC-1. Same as it ever was, Same as it ever was, Same as it ever was, . . . . (Talking Heads: Once In A Lifetime)

Are we talking about the Dirac and imaging issues that are being experienced?
Not everyone had experienced this but it’s an issue. What we still don’t know if this is a Dirac software issue, Emotiva issue or measurement issue.
I’m just glad I was able to get a good center image.
We need the ability to adjust delays post Dirac - hope we will get this down the road.

Ok, so starting in refernce stereo what would you suggest? I setup the 2nd speaker setup in pure full range stereo, no change. It kinda sounds like the the ' stereo image' of each single speaker is reversed. When I take a spacial recording going from left to right it kinda goes from right to left side of the left speaker and then right to left side of the right one. I am guessing there is a polarity issue. Maybe the XMC-2 balanced out pin layout is different from my previous processor? I'm using Orions.. not so different and went from my RCA out Zone 2 on XMC-1 to Zone 2 on the XMC-2 also RCA and had no issues or changes. maybe try RCA into the ASP/DSP I will say that I got the Emotiva offered XLR-RCA cables that are really crap and a bad fit in the XLR sockets on the XMC-2 - so I made up 15 of my own XLR to Male RCA to my amps for HT use. Now I run the Orions direct from my Lumin D2 outputs bypassing the XMC-2 good luck tracking down the issue. I suggest doing a left right channel test at least to determine you havent inadvertently mixed something up.....I did on my first migration...L&R swapped on the main channels.

Interesting point about having ethernet connected and maybe causing issues over time. I might kill that option and see if things improve. Also try and let it sit in LOW Power state instead of video ready, I already have it down to just one input and have a video switch/splitter to manage sources to try and trouble shoot this. well I checked my setup again today after pulling the ethernet out yesterday (I think it was) and its its still responding to IR remote commands to switch inputs in hot standby (not low power state) so this is some good progress. Even though this means I cant remotely use the iOS app to turn things on but that was always dodgy at the best of times. doc1963 thanks for the suggestion/tip

I'm switching out from a Meridian G68. My cables are home made and run XLR to RCA on my ASP. Will try the XLR to XLR option as well. And yes, I did think to run a 'left right' test tune

Ok, so i hooked up my 4-deck dddac from the study to the balanced in, using reference stereo mode. And.... the gap is (almost) closed. The difference is remarkable and easy to test switching inputs.
Maybe de xmc-2 dac’s are less than my g68’s ones were, or something else in the signal path is cramping the style.
Will play with polarity over the weekend, but probably I will need to build another dac to hook up to the xmc-2 balanced in for stereo.

rogerlons Do you know what other things are being addressed with v2.2? Afraid not. I'm not part of the beta program so I don't have any more visibility into it than what I've already said. I was told there were lots of fixes though.

Don't know about the first two, but DLBC is at least a looooooong time away (my estimate). That's not an official statement, but based on "how" my question was answered last time I spoke to someone at Emotiva a couple weeks ago. I called about something else but as always, I try to make the most of having someone to ask, so I did.

Is anyone else running with an external DAC on balanced in? When I am in reference stereo, I have a perfect stage, with the artist front and center. But when I switch to direct or stereo mode I get a big gap in the middle and the artist gets split and pushed to the sides. The difference is not subtle.
I do not have any filters enabled on stereo. Is there a problem with my unit, or is this a known issue?

I called about something else but as always, I try to make the most of having someone to ask, so I did. that source code thing is a farce as well. It's been available for a long time. Remember the "we're working on it" statement that got everyone convinced they were actively doing anything? How long ago was that? This "source code retrieval" means they finally decided to ask Dirac for the code, if it didn't already exist as part of the package in the first place since DLBC is supposed to be part of the code now. I don't know why it is so hard for most to see how Emotiva operates. Even if the code is easier to implement due to Dirac already being in place, I'd bet the logic and architecture of their entire code base has to be rewritten, again, and this will cause another two years of chasing issues. If it were me, I'd officially state it is off the table. There is too much risk involved. But, they won't because it will hurt business. Clearly not a #customerobsessed company.

As far as firmware 2.2 for the RMC-1 and XMC-2 I was told in January they(Emotiva) hope to release it in Feb 2021. No more info then that.
