I think I’m in the same boat on switching. If the bass management bug and other bugs gets fixed and DLBC option becomes available, I will likely keep the XMC-2, otherwise I will sell it and buy the Monoprice or the upcoming Onkyo. I’m in the same boat!!! I only jumped on an XMC-2 because Emotiva decided to put an expiration date on the 40% card. My bugs are easily fix by switching Inputs and back or do a full reboot. It’s been awhile since a new firmware has been release. I’m hoping that they don’t think there isn’t any bugs left to fix. This thing is far from being bug free. Big code stuff right around the corner.

Unfortunately we can't always offer deals which make sense for everyone.
In this case it would probably make more sense to go buy a $125 AVR, trade it in for the discount on a nice new RMC-1 or RMC-1L, and then sell your XMC-2. (I'm sure you will easily find someone on the forum who would love to give a barely-used XMC-2 a nice new home. ) We offer trade in pricing on pretty much all our gear. Give us a call and talk to sales 615-790-6754 or send an email to sales@emotiva.com , I'm sure they will work something out with you going from the XMC-2 trading up. Out of curiosity I contacted sales this morning to follow up on this. So if I’m tracking things correctly, which I am, they would be willing to give me $1,500 off a RMC 1 or 1L trading in my two month old XMC-2. Or, I could head down to the local Salvation Army and pick up some 25 year old AVR that doesn’t even work for $20 and get $1,000 off with the “Bring us your dead” promo. Guess that’s better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick, and it’s nice that Emotiva is even providing me with this option (I get it). However, I’ll take the poke in the eye and wear a patch👍 Great option if you’re considering switching to Emotiva, but screams F/U to existing customers. This my friends is why there’s no such thing as brand loyalty any longer. Just my thoughts..and yes I’m still happy with my XMC-2 purchase. Please keep in mind, I’m saying this as a new customer that dropped $5,500 on Emotiva gear, didn’t receive the DIrac kit when my XMC and Amp shipped. Then paid $30 for overnight shipping to calibrate sh**, then upon receipt of the kit, found it was a used kit with scotch tape rolls on the backs of the switch and Pi to obviously attach them to something, and to top it all off the switch included in the kit is now dead and doesn’t even power on, so I’ve since replaced it…. All 100% factual and not a peep from me to anyone at Emotiva about it. Call me crazy… $1,500 for my 2 month old XMC-2, that’s adding way too much insult to injury at this point, just saying…

I think shipping handlers were treating them like frisbees. Mine was. Most of the parts were loose in the crumpled box.

Considering the bring us your dead promo, one would be expecting a little bit better than that right now. I understand folks are trying to run a business, which actually played into my decision of purchasing something from a domestic company, but that’s highway robbery. As I also mentioned, it’s nice that you guys even provided me with the option, but is it really an option? Don’t think so, unless you’re fortunate enough to have the disposable income to toss $1,700 for two months of product usage..

Could easily bang against each other when used in UPS vs FedEx tackle football. It's horrid what are delivered are subject to. I immediately swapped out switch for $29 5port ubiquiti powered by poe.

I considered it, but you know what they say about hindsight 👍 Look, I’m actually really happy with the XMC-2, I have a blast running and tweaking Dirac Live, probably more than I should. I’m really looking forward to getting my Mini DSP HD tomorrow to start working on getting my three subs dialed in through REW. Figured if we eventually get DLBC great, but I’m not getting any younger..😀 So yes, you’re 100% right… My wife was also right again, I tried to save a buck (well a couple)and now regret my decision…👍

Okay, we get it.

I’m always here to listen to you complain about me complaining 👍 I brought it up because I was under the impression it was a used kit, could of cared less about the quality of the cheap switch that lasted all of two months. It has since been brought to my attention that the kits are actually packaged that way…Great!! Water under the bridge too me buddy, but you keep doing you. I’m sure you’re a fantastic individual IRL👍

Can you return the RMC1L? Then re-buy it with the AVR? It’ll cost you a little on the return but overall it’s a pretty big savings.

I can return my Rmc1l and send them my avr but I would have to pay shipping on both.I would also have to disconnect it,pack up both units and redo all the setup when I get the new one.just moving my rack to get behind it is a huge task.I hoped I could just leave mine in the rack and send them my old one.

I do have a gently used RMC-1L for sale. Mine is +/- a year old, includes full Dirac kit, all accessories, rack mount kit, manual, boxes, etc etc etc. $2500 here and is listed on eBay for $2750. Buyer pays shipping from 22801 zip and I get good deals with FedEx I’ll pass along.

In short, my AVM 70 that was delayed which sparked my RMC purchase is here and I like it so I have decided to keep that and sell the Emo.
