Amazon Prime, I believe is one. Do you know any movie titles I could search for please? I know there are streaming services which are "said" to be streaming HDR10+, but I really need the movie titles specifically. Try one of these out: “The Prime Video HDR10+ catalogue includes hundreds of hours of content such as Prime Originals The Grand Tour, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Jean-Claude Van Johnson, The Tick and The Man in the High Castle plus hundreds of licensed titles. Prime Video is the first streaming service provider to deliver HDR10+ content to its users.”

It's a shame that I cannot even search to see which movies are available in which formats without the necessity of having a completely compatible system. Sadly, my Sony tv is not HDR10+ compatible. And no matter which display I choose from my arsenal, cell phones, computers, etc, none are HDR10+ compatible, so apparently I will never see the "+", of course, I also don't see the "10" either. I guess I'll have to swing by a buddy's house to check some things out.

Sent my XMC-1 trade in to EMO on February 2nd and received an XMC-2 today the eleventh. Nine days, great turn around. 👏👏 Kudos to Emotiva.

Two questions: 1) I have rmc-1 + two 15" subs + minidsp 2x4 hd. 5.2.4 setup. Fronts and center are full range (23Hz+), surrounds 40Hz+, celling speakers 80Hz+. What is the best subs config for me? Stereo subs from emotiva (dual mono) to minidsp (2 in, 2 out) or one center sub out to minidsp (LFE) (1 in, 2 out)? 2) How completeley delete dirac live profile from rmc-1 (need to do this for REW measurements)?

Processors/Receivers with HDMI 2.0 supports it today, not all, but many. It’s not OK that you need to buy new hardware (HDMI 2.1) for this feature. Only my opinion. Do we know for SURE that the current HDMI board does not support? Is this what Emotiva has told you? I personally don't know. They didn’t tell me that the hardware doesn’t support it. They just pass through the signal and with Dolby Vision, no problem. HDR10+ doesn’t go through and Emotiva don’t know why.

Connect your two subs to the miniDSP outputs. Set the levels and delays in the miniDSP to align the two subs to each other. It's important to do it this way so the subs are aligned to each other and then Dirac sees the sub output as one sub and aligns it to the other speakers. a) Option 1: Center Sub=Mono; LCR=Large; Surrounds=Small 40Hz; Tops=Small 80Hz .... in this configuration LFE and small speaker bass will go to the subs; LCR will not use the subs
b) Option2: Center Sub=LFE; LCR=Large; Surrounds=Small 40Hz; Tops=Small 80Hz .... in this configuration LFE (and only LFE) will go to the subs, and small speaker bass will go only to the LCR; neither LCR nor surrounds and tops will use the subs; subs will only play LFE
2) Easiest way to do REW without Dirac is to use the User Equalization setting with all PEQ filters disabled and with just Levels and Distance set to the speaker configuration

So, as stated earlier as I was researching this, HDMI 2.0b will pass HDR10+, but it’s not officially supported. I’m assuming it could be “turned on” via firmware, but my guess is they won’t. As far as I can tell, none of the other manufacturers do either. I could be wrong, but this is based on Crutchfield research. HDMI 2.1 board is highly likely to support HDR10+ whenever it is available and implemented.

Emotiva did a YouTube HDMI installation guide 5 months ago. I thought this could be due to the HDMI 2.1 upgrade being imminent. I will buy it when it’s ready.

Others stating they would pass or wait. This may be dated, but others mentioning the need for a firmware update. Regardless, if I were in the market, I would buy a 2.1 capable unit. So, is it possible for Emotiva to firmware update the current board to pass HDR10+? And if so, would they do it with a new 2.1 board supposedly on the horizon? I’m going for the new board regardless when it comes out.

And if so, would they do it with a new 2.1 board supposedly on the horizon? I’m going for the new board regardless when it comes out. For the time being, HDMI 2.1 is really only a need/must for gamers, ie: 4K@120/8K@60. If/when NetFlix/PrimeVideo/AppleTV+/Disney+/Hulu/etc....actually start streaming 4K@120/8K@60 then the HDMI 2.0b spec will do just fine. Yes, technology is constantly moving on and advancing, thus making chipsets/hardware to become outdated, so "YES" I'll be moving on to an HDMI 2.1 board when available. Yes I would also like to see "eARC" displace "ARC" that is highly dependent on CEC, but in the near future I don't see moving away from dedicated streamers where those apps being run are constantly being updated as opposed to the on-board TV apps. As for HDR10+, I'm surprised that the current board isn't passing it through, but would expect a new HDMI 2.1 board to be capable of this. I however don't see HDR10+ being anything but an after-thought, and I say this because of the small list of content that uses it. It would be a different story if it were available on all of the "MAJOR" manufacturers flat panels, but Samsung seems to be the only "MAJOR" brand carrying its torch. Dolby Vision has become, more or less, the default HDR technology and since it is already 12bit color ready, then 12bit flat panels when available will most likely take advantage of it as well.

Yes its a consequence of when the gen3's were released a number of years ago now. I expect the number of " when is the 2.1 board coming" type posts to pop up in the future to increase in frequency I think Emo has enough on its hands to introduce another variable into the code . My acurus passes hdr10+ but is of no consequence as I dont have any hdr10+ discs afaik and I like many others are happy with 4k/60 or 1080p/60 from our x box series s's [for the few 120hz games out there for this console]. This frame rate is handled by the gen 3's fine .. Samsung has a lot invested in their dv competitor restechtoday.com/hdr10-added-by-new-content-distribution-and-device-partners/

On the RMC-1L, where is the IR sensor? I am asking as I bought a remote IR repeater but, I’m not quite sure where to position the remote IR transmitter in the RMC-1L. Looks like it might be above the volume knob

Looks like it might be above the volume knob While I don't know the definitive answer, you can shine a flashlight into the darkened glass of your RMC-1L to find it. Typically, it just looks like a small "hole" behind the glass. If I had to guess, you'll find it somewhere between the two OLED displays above the rotary encoder...

Looks like it might be above the volume knob I don’t have mine in front of me, but also believe it’s above the volume knob. The best option, if your repeater supports it, would be to run a 3.5mm TS cable from the repeater, to the rear IR input (some IR extenders/eyes, have this cable built in). You can then disable the front IR input.

Looks like it might be above the volume knob If your repeater system has a wired option, this would be best, it's how mine is connected. I then turned off the IR options in the processor menu. This way there are no wires attached to the fronts of any of the devices I for which I use the repeater. Further, the IR Sensor that came with the repeater is waaaay more sensitive than any of my devices, so it works a lot better without aiming the remote. edit: ^^^^ he typed faster than I did.

Your product has only one 'emitter' plug, which is why they give you the 4-headed flasher- so you can control up to 4 components. If all you are trying to control is your RMC-1, then you could use the 1/8'' mono cable to the rear ir input on the RMC-1. If you want to control multiple components, then the 4-headed flasher (using one flasher to the RMC-1's front panel) would be your best bet.
