Keith, you say it is still on the road map but behind other stuff. Are you able to share the processor road map with us? We all have been given zero information on the state of the Processors or what to expect in future updates.

Nice equipment. Right? It was ok for a while until I put the XMC2 back in the rack. But with this open rack system…it’s tough. Told the wife that when I get my bonus, I’m done with the XMC2 in this room. DLBC is a must so these processors are no longer competitive. |

I hear ya. Open racks are a pain. You have an understanding wife to say the least. Bonus checks are always nice  . My wife didn't really like sound panels in our living room before, so I told her I'll use one room for a dedicated room when we got a new house. However it is a small(9.5x15)room but I made it work. All 9.1.4 channels lol.  |

Can you confirm if this is something still on the roadmap? I believe DTS:X Pro, IMAX enhanced and the elevated bass bug fix will be in the next firmware.. As well as support for the new HDMI 2.1 board and crossmixing with upmixing. |

Yes....
The audio component of IMAX Enhanced is basically DTS-X Pro - which we're still working on... (Since we simply switch the video signal, and don't process it, the video part of it really doesn't affect us much.)
So they will probably arrive at the same time...

Even though the bass management bug only affects some users and some configurations, the root cause is tied in with the way we route the audio signal between the code modules in the DSP. Therefore, since it will involve extensive rewrites and testing, it's scheduled to be fixed in the next major update.

When they finally do share a little knowledge with us, wtf would we want to berate them? .. because this should have been fixed a year (or more!) ago! I am not berating the supply of information, but the ongoing defect in our SSP. I am not requiring implementation of some third part convolution filter or some fancy multi speaker, up to the minute, digital filtering room correction. Bass management is simple high pass and low pass filters with addition and subtraction of resulting audio signals plus the necessary whole number dB attenuation of signals. All mathematically very easy and all very crucial to a surround sound processor produced at any time within the last 20 years. Why would you even defend this defect or the inaction in just getting it sorted! No amount of Dirac can compensate for the screwed up bass management of this processor - if these basics are not right then everything that comes after it is necessarily wrong. |
