Wouldn't it be a good idea, to create a RMC-1/RMC-1L/XMC-2 Owners Thread (Post Firmware v2.50) to start only with issues about the upcoming V3.0? Yes, but only when once it's been out a week or so. Then the first post can have sections like: Remaining issues from previous firmware versions: New issues discovered in this firmware: ....does the new caramel latte function work properly. Is it better than Starbucks?

Lots of pages since v1.10.
Anyone else feel like their processor has come a long way?

Whoever creates the new post could you leave a couple of postings at the front for us to add some links which we can send to you for instance links to the various versions in this thread

Most definitely. Setting up a new Owner/Firmware thread will done just like the Dirac thread that ‘audiohtit’ started with several blank posts at the front to add for future updates, info and links so everyone can see the latest without having to weed through pages of off-topic subjects that inevitably gets posted(which the moderators may delete from time to time to declutter).

Spoke to Keith, and I think one of us from Emotiva will start an official post-3.0 FW thread once ready. We will include some empty placeholder posts as suggested, and we will try to keep spots for a summary of firmware issues that may appear, etc., or links to older posts and versions, other notes and resources related to 3.0. If others can hold off creating a post for now or any kind of preliminary 3.0 thread before the release, we will get something put up for everyone.

That's an unusual move and suggests 'sponsorship' as traditionally these types of threads are started by and considered for 'owners', and this is predominantly an owner / user based board, although sponsored and administered by Emotiva. I only point this out because the OP traditionally has the role of setting the tone and scope of the thread, and making sure it stays on topic (as much as these things can be steered). So whoever starts this new tread takes on that responsibility, as well as the maintenance of the first few posts for reference material as suggested and typical. If this is part of an enhanced presence in the Lounge, great, just setting expectations.

But I think that is a valid point and something we will talk about again so that things don't go unattended or descend into chaos. I plan to continue my involvement on the new thread and already have some resources to include in initial posts. If anyone is opposed to one of us starting the thread and would rather it be started by a non-Emotiva-staff member, I don't think that would be an issue. But the idea is to be more involved, however that ends up looking.

Until now many of us churn with ideas and questions and just go in circles for a while hoping for some Emotiva input. Lots of speculation just often ends in frustration. More regular response to topics would be appreciated. Of course KeithL has been most prolific in commenting on may topics ... much appreciated!

A parallel talky-talk 3.0 thread could be started by the owners with less concern for the inevitable descent into chaos. Put valuable cross referenced links to each other at the top of the threads.

I believe that FW 3.0 will be the holy grail, the chosen one, the one that will bring balance to all processors, prefect in everyway and will solve all of our issues and there will be no need for a new thread at all!

Nothing else. And hopefully no new surprise bugs. If there's more than that? Gravy ...

Problem is, quite a bit was promised from the outset. Like DSD over USB for example. Though I'd be happy to be able to play Blu-Rays again.

Speaking specifically about 3.0, in terms of expectations. Yes, lots of other stuff has been promised and we know there's a 4.0 coming. But the semi-leaked notes for 3.0 only mentioned the eARC/ARC/HDMI stuff.
