1988 VP Debate...Lloyd Bentsen to Dan Quayle. Bentsen was telling Quayle he was no Jack Kennedy...a comparison Dan liked to make as a positive for himself. A classic moment in that election. Mark Yeah, that was a little before my time of paying any attention to politics.

Why is your acquaintance holding you accountable for something you can't control? Why are you taking responsibility for something you can't control? Do you think this is functional? I crunched the numbers the other day on the potential financial liability of all of this too. Im sure youre losing sleep wondering if I'm okay with the way you guys are running the company and how you're handling all the issues that came up when you released the new processors... GOOD NEWS Lonnie, the numbers check out and you're fine! If you have any other questions on how to run your company feel free to contact me and i'll set you straight. i had a paper route when i was younger so i know everything there is to know about how to run a business! I'm here for you Buddy! I bet that's a load off your mind and you are very welcome. I do have one problem though, my next door neighbor, 2 doors down, across from the bait shop, thinks i'm crazy for spending $4000 on a processor because he listens to movies through an old fisher stereo from the seventies and he only spent $20 on it at a rummage sale and he says it sounds fantastic even though the left channel doesn't work! Its causing me a lot of stress because he keeps telling me i'm a dumbass and i'm sad that he thinks i wasted my money. I'm afraid he won't buy one of your processors. Any changes you can make to your processors to make him nicer to me would be greatly appreciated. I would also like a step by step explanation as to WHY you made the decisions you made about this processor sent to me within the next few day. Thanks and tell Dan I said he's doing a great job! Hahaha! Thanks for adding some humor to this discussion.

I added a second pair of ceiling speakers this week and can confirm, when my system was configured as 7.2.2 (w/Small Front Top) I did not have the Zone 2 crackle I had with FW1.9. However, when I added the second pair to get 7.2.4 (w/Small Front Top & Small Rear Top) the Zone 2 static/crackle returned (Right channel for me). I haven’t tried other configurations yet. Not static related (Not until I install them and get them working at least!), but could you look at my thread please, your input is valued as I see you have just gone from 7.1.2 to 7.1.4! Sorry to hijack this thread to draw attention to this, but I am confused about Dolby ceiling speaker placement as their website gives two answers to the same configuration of Top Middle speakers in a 7.1.2 setup (The Dolby Website also calls them Top Middle speakers but it looks like I cannot use Top Middle without having Top front and Top rear) emotivalounge.proboards.com/post/1036985/thread

Dirac kits going to field beta testers this week. Almost there! Lonnie Hi Lonnie. Is there a timeline for, or update on, the results of beta testing? I had an acquaintance ask me about my experience with the XMC-2 back in Feb. I told him that I'm quite pleased, and just waiting for Dirac to release. He's asked me several times since then, as he was finishing up his theater build. Earlier today he told me he went ahead and ordered the Monoprice HTP-1 because *my* "it should be soon" statements had become worthless to him. That stung, but it is what it is. He's hoping to get everything installed by the end of July. I'm curious which one of us is more likely to have a fully functioning theater first. He must have bought his HTP-1 used as the Monoprice website states back in stock on August 5, 2020. As for the Dirac beta testing, I have a feeling all owners of an RMC-1/RMC-1L/XMC-2 are going to be quite impressed with the results.

That makes one optimistic 😉 I'm not at all pleased with any of my filters at the moment due to fiddling around with things and moving subs. I've pretty much left it alone for a while in hopes that Dirac would just sort it all out getting it close enough.

FWIW, I don’t bother with any PEQ on my XMC-2. I set speaker distance with a tape measure, levels with a dB meter and best subwoofer position and phase with REW. I do use the PEQ on my subs but only to remove peaks.
The XMC-1 sounds great without any PEQ.
I am looking forward to Dirac as I’m interested to hear what it does to my system.
Dave.

I do the same with RMC-1L, except I also run a miniDSP and have that all tweaked.

Wow, 38 pages in a month; must be a record! That might be of interest if such a large number weren’t off topic.

I believe he ordered it a week or two ago, and just told me about it now. But, if he hasn't ordered it yet, and is just assuming it's available, he might have to wait a week or so after his room is done. Hopefully we'll have Dirac by then, but since we haven't been given a timeline, I'm not holding my breath.

PEQ is for your room/speaker interaction and possibly to implement a house curve. It is not there to fix any fault with the processor.

How did you come to that conclusion from my post? When you said, "XMC-1 sounds great without and PEQ" I took that to mean you didn't think that PEQ was necessary for the processor. Not necessarily what you meant, but I read it as if you were tying the sound of the XMC-2 to the need (or lack there of) for PEQ. If you said, "My room sounds great without PEQ" I would have interpreted it the way you meant, perhaps?

I think some find it is necessary to fuss over getting a perfect PEQ setting for their room. I spend less time worrying about this, accept my room the way it is and more time enjoying the great sound coming from my XMC-2. Cheers, Dave.

I'm considering purchase of the RMC-1L and trying to anticipate how much space it will need in my rack. Can you please share how warm/hot do your units get during operation? Thank you.

My RMC-1 runs extremely cool. I see no need for any type of special ventilation for it. What type of space are you thinking of putting it in?
