@david81 Thanks for the post! Is the frame of the Sol Black and the motor and preamp silver? Thanks so much! 👍 The frame is black and the motor and platter are silver. The Mani preamp comes in either silver or black. I already had the silver one (used it on the Rega) so I didn't bother changing it. Thanks so much. Perhaps Schiit needs to rethink its color palette. Choice of black or silver, not both.  |

For $800 I expected better stats, especially for wow and flutter - but its belt drive, and some fine speed adjustment as the rubber band wears.

So I thought I would start working on my turntable shelf ... again, I went up to the Schiit Site to look at the Sol and ... it's gone! Just called the store (yes, they're open on Sunday!), they said it's been discontinued. Shiit ain't got no Sol!

Just called the store (yes, they're open on Sunday!), they said it's been discontinued. Shiit ain't got no Sol! That’s unfortunate. I like mine, but it is kinda a pain with kids in the house. No cover etc. |

In a few years it might be back, the guy said “it’s discontinued for now” and related to Covid, parts availability, etc. If enough people want it, they’ll probably bring it back. |

I kind of get it. It was a pain to get it the way Jason and Mike wanted. It was very expensive for them to get going. Too bad it didn't work out for them, and for those whom desired it.
But remember what Jason said about any product is "Thunderdome". It has to sell well and other factors. If it didn't make those factors, out it goes. Those were what he said in his continuing Schiit Book chapters on Headfi forums.
