None of the recent versions of dirac live work for me on my windows laptop. I get the "imprecise measurement" no matter what I do (the new environment variable doesn't help). Thankfully, I have a 3 year-old version of the dirac live installation file (circa 3.2) that allowed me to downgrade to a version that works.
Just curious if anyone who has previously encountered the "imprecise measurement" error was able to fix that in some way OTHER than adding the new environment variable.

The only way that I could get past the imprecise measurement was to remove my 2 rear speakers while doing the calibration. I run a 7.2.4 speaker setup and had to drop down to 5.2.4 to get a correct run. Neither Emotiva nor Dirac could offer another solution.

In my case, I dropped the setup to just two front speakers (mainly in the interest of time while I tried different things), but that didn't help. Oh well, it won't be the first time I've spent $100 on something that didn't work.

Went to rerun Dirac tonight. Dirac sees the RMC and Mic just fine but, Dirac says it canβt find the mic calibration file when Iβm selecting it right from the Dirac software and it sees the file (then says it canβt find the file). Anyone run into this? Itβs running on MAC/IOS

So I was able to make it through Dirac 13 position measurements, create the filter and load them to my RMC. Now it wonβt let me unselect DIRAC on the EMC, any ideas how to fix this?

Yes and non responsive. Did a full power off restart. Remote is no longer responding along with other functions (canβt get to menu) sounds like filter loaded though. If can just get control back and use of the remote, the family (and me) would be very grateful

I believe they were still all connected. Now they are not and will turn it back On and check it again. Not sure of the best way forward if nothing has changed

It is all good after a longer power cycle. Issue with the remote was an easy oneβ¦remote fell off couch and bumped the battery out of its holderβ¦all is good and working as expected

Donβt know if this was mentioned here, but it looks like DLBC is now a single license for however many subs you have, so for multiple subs, a $150 savings. All the more reason to hope for DLBC in the G4P! www.dirac.com/live/bass-control/

Is there a reason why Dirac won't allow re-measurement of a single speaker, instead of being forced to redo all 16 speakers if a random noise happens accidentally after speaker 14. Definitely miss that from MulteqX. Made life sweeter. Or please tell me I'm an idiot and the feature exists somewhere.
Or just let me measure per-speaker as an option.

There is a good reason. To remeasure a single speaker you would have to accurately place the mic in 9 ... 13 .... 17 positions that match the positions that the other speakers were measured? You can't do that. If you save the measurements as a project before going to Filter Design you can reload them and retake measurement positions (all speakers) ... but it is impossible to retake a single speaker.

Doing Dirac speaker calibration. Why is it most of the time the speaker volume is extremely loud, other times is normal. When it's loud no matter what I do whether reset XMC-2 or restart Dirac app, it still loud? Not sure how to fix it. Any advice would be really appreciated.

There's a slider in the software to dial up/down the levels prior to running Dirac. Mark

Dani This actually happened to me yesterday. I've done literally hundreds of Dirac calibrations over the past six years, and although I have had lots of weird stuff happen with my XMC-1 and 2 ... this was a first. Either the volume calibration buttons did nothing, and no calibration sound came out ... or, after a restart ... IT WAS SCARY SO LOUD I JUMPED! My SPL meter happened to be nearby and recorded 106 decibels! Okay the cure ... 2-3 cold reboots did not fix it, so I backed up settings, did a Factory Reset, restored settings ...and it was fixed. So the standard advice here is if something very strange happens and a reboot doesn't fix it, do a Factory Reset. My opinion and observation after all these years and many hours going in and out of the menus and changing settings and doing Dirac calibrations .... the more you do that, the more "Dark Matter" accumulates in the mysterious depths of the software ....at some point it reaches critical mass and begins ejecting pops and snaps and random volume changes and some channels go dead. It must then be exorcized with a Factory Reset ... sometimes two.
