earworm îr′wûrm″► n. A melody or a portion of a piece of music that is involuntarily repeated in one's mind. n. A tune that is stuck in one's head, especially as unwanted or repetitive.
Most of the time I wake up with a song playing, but this exercise doesn't need to be limited to only awaking earworms.
I awoke to this playing in my brain:
I heard it on the radio a few days ago, so I guess my brain liked it and keeps playing it.

Earworm. Hmmm first time I have heard of that. Interesting. The Big Bang Theory is where it became clear what it meant when Sheldon had a 5 note earworm the entire episode and couldn't figure out what the song was until the end. Something which happens to me regularly. I'll hear something and it starts a massive manhunt through my brain to connect the dots into the song that closely matches what I heard to trigger it. Maddening.

LOL - I read the title as "what EARTHWORM did you wake up with this morning." I haven't done THAT since college, thanks.

On my part it's not the one I woke to... But the one that stays in my head before going to bed.... And those days it's Aries from Gorillaz...

Earworm: A song playing in your head whether you want it to or not. Most of the time I wake up with a song playing, but this exercise doesn't need to be limited to only awaking earworms. So last night she’s looking to stream something on Netflix and comes up with The Jersey Boys (The story of The Four Seasons rising to their fame. I’m a good sport)....stuck with the “Sherry” ear worm 🐛! youtu.be/Bo_NS5uaDfIBill

I’m a good sport)....stuck with the “Sherry” ear worm 🐛! youtu.be/Bo_NS5uaDfIBill From about late 1963-1965 my father owned a roller skating rink in Chicago along with a business partner. They were both in the commercial real estate business so this rink was something they acquired to improve and re-sell. The rink had a dance room with a jukebox and Sherry Baby was played alllllll the time. I still enjoy the song however. So thanks for the flashback! Other hits of the time were The Martian Hop, My Boyfriend's Back, Pretty Woman, Candy Girl, Walk Like A Man. Here's one called Rev-Up which may sound familiar. It's from a band that was a 4 hit wonder. Not really hits, but they only had 4 songs. This one came out in 1963. I still have this 45 rpm record somewhere. On the flipside was Trans-Miss-Yen
