I thought I was going overkill using 12Ga for my 48" cables! 4 feet? 12ga? You should be FINE if they are of good quality and low inductance / resistance. It might depend a LITTLE on how much power and how loud you listen (how much power you use, not have available). If you like it loud, you might use 5 watts with 50 watt peaks. That would be Very Loud. Do the math. I have 10ga and would not do that again. My runs are 2 per speaker and maybe 30" long (yep...2 and 1/2 Feet) so almost no possible combination of 'badness' could really effect the output. My speakers are very low sensitivity so for any given level, I suspect using a little more power than most. But still and all? How could I possibly be stressing that cabling?
