I disabled CEC from Apple TV but still the same. The case is, even with all cables unplugged, the XMC-2 is having the same issue; very slow navigation (7 seconds to 1 minute). Any action is very slow and menu screen just keep being active on the unit for a very long time. I'm afraid it's time to call Emotiva. Did the other person who had the same issue respond? Edit: Send Jayce996 a PM....you may get a quicker response... I stated my story in the official thread for XMC2 quick resume: nothing worked, XMC2 broken, back to factory for manual handling ...

Update:
emotiva requested to ship the unit back internationally to US and I'm to bear the cost which is high. Otherwise, they would like me to ship it to India (as they say that it is cheaper to ship to) for one of their distributors to fix the unit while I'm to bear the labor cost (under international warranty policy).
I've replied back with 2 options (India is not one of them): - if the repair is a part replacement then see if possible to ship the part to me and share the replacement instructions which can be followed while video recording the replacement for the sake of warranty. - Start the refund process and return the unit.
Waiting for emotiva reply and will update here whenever I receive the reply.

If that happened to me, I’d never buy another Emotiva product. If this was another brand...same thing. I agree with your 2nd option, this is an auto return scenario. I don’t think it’s parts as they most likely will have to reflash your unit. Well this is why as much as I love my XMC2, I can’t recommend it to anyone who asks if they should buy it. It’s just too unreliable.

It’s just too unreliable. I’m not sure about unreliability, we would need actual numbers to verify, but I do think that Emotiva needs to have a better international warranty policy. You are really rolling the dice if you live outside the US. As to recommending these processors to anyone who asks me, they need to be more than just plug and play users. That also applies to other brands. For some, the complication is too much.

Update:
- Replacement part "EDA-2 board" is out for delivery to my Aramex US address (Aramex will ship it internationally to my home address; costs around $24). - Waiting for emotiva team to provide replacement procedure along with the instructions to be followed to make sure that the warranty will still be intact. ==============================================================
Following is my plan once the replacement is done and xmc-2 is ready: - Disconnect all cables except power cable and power up the cmx-2. - In case the front display is not responding, will use the remote control. - Factory reset the XMC-2 then disable CEC and "Video On". Go to standby mode then turn off the xmc-2 using the back AC switch. - Power up the xmc-2 and try to install firmware 2.2 (USB drive to contain the firmware file only in the main folder; no other files at all)
Will keep you posted for new updates.

Update:
One day back I received the "EDA-2 board" replacement part and yesterday I did the replacement job which was little bit tricky due to some standoff screws being used as columns between the "EDA-2 board" and the "HDMI board". Also, I was expecting to receive an anti-static strap as mentioned in the replacement instructions document (shared earlier) that the strap is included. I had to purchase a strap which was inexpensive but I still had to put the effort to go and purchase it. Given that I was supposed to pay for one of emotiva distributors for the labor charge in case I agree to ship the xmc-2 internationally as well to the distributor to fix it under emotiva international warranty policy. Such situation made me feel bad as such an inexpensive strap would be a kind gesture and reflect a good faith if it was included.
Once the replacement job has been done, I connected the xmc-2 power and turned it on (only speakers are connected; no HDMI devices connected). The xmc-2 worked just fine and the navigation menu on the front panel was responsive. I did a factory reset, disabled "video on", disabled CEC, put the xmc-2 in standby mode, power off using the AC switch and power on again. Inserted USB stick (it has the firmware 2.2 file only; no other files at all) and started the firmware update which was completed and the xmc-2 went into standby mode.
I have shared the log file with emotiva team to be reviewed and confirm whether all is good so I can start the calibration process and hopefully enjoy my xmc-2.
Waiting to hear back from emotiva team so I can proceed my journey with the xmc-2.

Sounds like a good outcome. I had to replace a board in the RMC and it arrived in just a few days (to Oz!), and was completely painless. Diagnosis took a while, but I could have fast tracked that by opening up the box in the first place, not doing it as a last resort.
My experience - and that goes back the UMC-1 - has always been the Emotiva are very supportive when there are issues, even though I'm literally half a world away. Of course it would be better if we didn't have problems like this, but that's fantasyland stuff, with any manufacturer.
