What cables/adapters can be directly run from the Harmony Hub to the RMC=1/RMC-1L/XMC-2 and not have to worry about IR line of site? I know a 2.5mm to 3.5mm is needed, any suggestions on which ones? links? As far as cables are mono or stereo 3.5mm plugs needed? Links? Are these plugs 1/4 inch or 1/8 inch?

They are what he wrote, 2.5 mm at the Hub end and 3.5 mm at the RMC end. 3.5 is very close to 1/8th but doubt that would work. 1/4” is much larger and probably the only phone Jack standard still using inches.

You might be able to plug in an IR blaster at the output of the RMC with the blaster end behind the Oppo to get the same result.

Another great option, thanks for posting, the 6’ length too short for me but will probably work for many.

Does anyone here have a Fire TV? All FireSticks and Fire TV work with Bluetooth instead of IR. I can get my FireStick to work with the Elite w/ hub but it treats the Fire TV like a FireStick ie: no way to change inputs, etc. No TV functionality.
I've found a replacement remote for my TV and then tried to add other models that also work with that remote but none of them are working with the Elite. I called Harmony this morning and she wasn't really any help, she just wasn't getting that I can get the TV to pair with the hub via Bluetooth but its not giving me the functionality. I might try calling back later and see if I get someone else who maybe is more fluent in English.
So if anyone uses a Fire TV with their hub let me know if there is a trick I'm missing or let me know the model of TV you are using and I'll try that. I think its just a matter of finding a model that Harmony recognizes as a Fire TV.

I've been trying random Toshiba Fire TV models and 55LF621U19 seems to be working! They all use the same remote so I'm guessing it was just a matter of getting one that was in the data bank. I thought it would work because the software actually called it a Fire TV. But no luck. I've been on with tech support for almost and hour now. They have some of the functions working so we are getting closer... OK finally working!!! They used Insignia Fire TV NS-PDP50

I don’t use a Firestick, but believe I understand the question as both my TV and Mac mini are Bluetooth paired to my Harmony Hub (and give additional functionality because they are). My best recommendation would be to use the Logitech website to open your ticket. You will get a written response and can continue the discussion in writing via eMail, with possibly less of a language barrier, and more concise discussion. I have had good success doing that in the past, however I’m currently working through an issue which so far is less than satisfying (I’ll post the results here when it’s over). I’m about to open a similar ticket to try and get the Mac “Stop” function fixed (it currently does a “Pause”.)

I’m following up on the Power On Delay (POD) issue I posted about a month ago HEREI then posted about a workaround I was using HEREIn the first post I also mentioned I had opened a ticket with Logitech to try to get the POD increased. My hope was that they could do something simple and universal so that if it came up again for other products it would be handled, my suggestion was to change the POD range from 0 — 60 to 0 — 120 (though 90 would probably be good enough). My first eMail interaction seemed promising and I made it clear I wasn’t just trying to solve my problem, but rather for all G3P / Harmony users. Though my support person was unable to make the change and his suggestions were not to my liking, he passed the request to the ‘team’ and I resigned myself to my workarounds. A few days ago however, he got back to me and said they had made a change to the RMC-1L driver and asked me to test it. They claim to have given it a 120 second POD, though the scale still says 0-60. He asked me to test it by Adding a new RMC-1L device, and then Adding an activity with other typical devices — without modifying the POD for the new device. I created three new activities called Test POD 1, 2, & 3 (clever eh?), they start my DTV, Oppo, and TV. I used the standard Add Activity ‘Wizard’ and did nothing special, specifying the appropriate inputs as you normally would, no added steps or pauses. They seemed to work fine for a couple hours, with just what I’d call a cosmetic issue, but then I had a couple of bonks. So, it would be great if someone else would give it a try ( geebo ?). You don’t need to mess with any of your working activities, just add another RMC-1L device and make a new activity with that — as you normally would. I haven’t experimented with changing the new POD, as I’m not sure what it does anymore, but I think it might fix the cosmetic issue I referred to. To be clear — the current RMC-1L Device has the modification, and anyone who loads and uses it at this point will get the mod. The XMC-1 & 2 drivers are unchanged. My ticket with Logitech is still open, when we have a consensus, I’ll write back with our results / recommendations and see what’s next.

I'll definitely give it a whirl this weekend as I've been meaning to completely start from scratch with all of my Harmony remotes. Thanks for opening the ticket.

Once we’ve determined how well it works or what problems still exist, then it probably wouldn’t hurt to play with it. The cosmetic issue I spoke of is that the remote ‘thinks’ the Activity has completed and returns control to the user while it’s still starting up. At this point any key you press may be ignored, or possibly queued for later, and you may keep pressing thinking it’s broken, but really it’s still starting up. I think adjusting the POD may fix this, but haven’t tried yet.

Just for clarity, I should also point out that XMC-2 users can also use the RMC-1L device driver, as far as I know there is no difference — except the current RMC-1L driver has this new ‘mod’.

I also wanted to add (today's bad humor) that if we got an RMC-1, RMC-1L, and XMC-2 running this new driver, we’d have ,,, (wait for it) … the “POD Mod Squad”! 😆 … Linc, Julie, and Pete would have nothin’ on us!

Found a pic of the 3.5mm and 2.5mm plugs I used to make my custom cable, also the 3.5 to 2.5 adapter that cleared the back of the Hub.

That’s the same one LCSeminole posted a page back. I tried it a few years back and had trouble getting it to clear the hub, maybe the older hubs are slightly different, still have them, I’ll try again.

It completed (or thought it did) way before the RMC completed booting. I then changed the POD to 60 (max) and basically get the same behavior that I get with the old RMC-1L device. So I tried downloading the device again with the same results. I'm curious if LCSeminole is seeing the same thing.

I think the key is whether it changes inputs properly, which would happen after the POD.

I will give it another try tonight though. What are you using for turn-on input?
