New entry level BasX 13.2 MC-1 Processor coming December 15 for reservations It will have a new improved Emo Q with Earc and Atmos. It comes with something we’ve been asking for for a very long time, a back-lit remote. $999.00 list price. Any interest in this? Any instant buyers? I hope they offer a back-lit remote for all of the processors soon!

How about fixing the problems in the ones we have in operation now before coming out with new ones? Just a thought.

If this piece works, I would buy it to replace my XMC-2. It’s just ridiculous what the cost is to its operational function. I shouldn’t have to have a work around to get this to play right. If I can get EARC and it functions right count me in. I know I sold the MC-700 ASAP when I bought that. It was great for 2 channels but when you start messing with 4K and surround it’s all buggy. So the track record for Emotiva and their processors are not in our favor.

A very expensive fix for the XMC-1 switching issues. MC-1 HDMI to XMC-1 (if you can get one input to sync) Add MiniDSP with Dirac to solve the room issue.
The UMC-200 had zero HDMI (1.4) issues for the couple years I used it. I just didn't like the DAC with my speakers.

I just repaired a UMC-200. It had trouble booting' UP < "loading" displayed >.
+ 5vdc read 3.8vdc . C18 220uf read 190uf still within 20% tolerance But the ESR read 20 ohms . Should be <= .75 ohms . Needless to say the Cap
was loading down the 5vdc supply to the tune of 3.8vdc in STANDBY and 2.8vdc
whe ON . REPLACED with 330uf/16v .

It all boils down to "do I want this piece and am I willing to pay the asking price for it?" I've owned a few Emotiva processors and the track record at least for me has been about 50-50. So I won't be purchasing one, at least not in the beginning.
Amps are great. Processors not so much!!

We all have different experiences and perspectives depending on how we use the gear and what equipment we own. I have not yet ventured into Atmos. I don’t use ARC/CEC. So far I have been very happy with the XMC-1 and now XMC-2. Amps are great and the processors have been fine. Just my .02.

They've never launched a processor yet that wasn't problematic as hell. This one will be no different. No doubt it'll get better over time, I just feel for the early adopters yet again.

If this is really a rebadged Tonewinner processor and if TW is responsible for that function, then most likely they will be more on top of things.

Out of curiosity, do you have personal experience with Tonewinner firmware updates versus Emotiva?

Didn't Tonewinner make the UMC-1, -2, and MC-700?

Personally, I’ve never considered it to be a big trade secret that Emotiva uses ToneWinner as their “ Precision Crafted in China” ODM/OEM partner. For example, doesn’t THIS and THIS look strikingly familiar…? And yes, they (ToneWinner) did manufacture Emotiva’s UMC-1, UMC-200 (although I’m not certain about the MC-700) and obviously have had a huge involvement in their amplifiers (whether “ Assembled in the USA” or not) among other products. So if this same relationship holds true for the MC1 (and of course this is all speculation at this point), then Emotiva will certainly make their own hardware tweaks and cosmetics changes, but the MC1 will largely remain ToneWinner’s AT-300 under the hood. However, from everything I’ve read (and I’ve followed this product over at AVS Forum), I don’t see this as a bad thing. It seems to me that the MC1 could potentially be a more mature product and offer a better user experience, on day one, than my RMC-1L has managed to achieve in more than three years of continuous development.

Think we’ll finally see HDMI 2.1 on this product? Only reason why I haven’t bought a dedicated Emotiva processor yet. I do a lot of gaming so that’s a must for me. HDMI 2.1 has been offered on LG OLED’s since 2019 and we’re getting into 2022 now…

State of the art processors and no back light remote controls. Hmmm, seems like a glaring ommision, unless you automate and have tablet or other device flying your processor. Yeah seems like an obvious nice to have.
