State of the art processors and no back light remote controls. Hmmm, seems like a glaring ommision, unless you automate and have tablet or other device flying your processor. Yeah seems like an obvious nice to have. This seems to be a common thread with many manufacturers...I don't know how many reviews I've read wishing that the product had a backlit remote....

I guess you've heard that the MC1 remote has a back light. (I guess well see how well that catches on...)

Even though I have an XMC-2, I'm very curious to see the MC-1 and what trade-offs were taken to attain the $999 price.

Curious how this will sound compared to the MC-700. Is it the same DAC/audio chip? I was always impressed with the sound of my MC-700.

Not a bad price point. Certainly a consideration but will look at the competition as well.

Back here after a few years of not checking in. Looks like I'll be watching for early reviews of the MC-1 as a possible replacement for my quirky MC-700

Nice complement of ins and outs (including IR & Trigger). Yes. Even RS232 for those with fancy control systems.

Always was an early adapter.....ordered. After the $200 cash back, it is only $800. That is hard to pass up.

Why XLR for subs? It would of been nice to save those for front channels or inputs, just wishful thinking. Looks nice and compelling tho

Looks nice and compelling tho Subs are the most likely place to need a long cable, where balanced out is most advantageous. Hitting the sub $1000 price point probably more important than balanced outs on the other channels, most will just use a few feet of cable there.

This looks very nice. It would be interesting to know what DACs are used (Cirrus Logic CS42528 maybe?). Looking forward to the reviews and how people get along with it.
I am often asked for AV advice. It would be great to be able to recommend the MC-1 and BasX amp(s) as an alternative to overpriced and/or under-performing receivers.

Not a bad price point. Certainly a consideration but will look at the competition as well. An interesting option to go with unbalanced outputs when the tonewinner 200 and 300 went with both = balanced option as well . The emo has better lfe options = balanced /unbalanced ;not just unbalanced [ depending on the main output ie 7.1.6 or 9.1.4 with the at300 ] as well as a usb input . Much neater back panel in the MC1 . Have an idea this pre pro will be a lot more stable than many with its matured hdmi 2.0 inputs and improved switching with its E-ARC . Will enable 4k/120 and eventually 8k/60 to be switched through a 2.1 tele ; negating any hdmi 2.1 inputs right from the get go .. This of course is 1 up on its dearer cousins ;sweet The tonewinner at200's karaoke inputs should rule it out for many I suspect [ except for the chinese market possibly ]

I’m leaning more towards Integra because of Dirac. My 2nd system in the rec room is mostly for movies/tv watching.

This looks like everything my MC-700 should have been. I would love to get it, but I only just got the 700 a couple years ago. I hope the MC! passes signals a little smoother than the 700. Like others have stated the 700 seems to get flaky around 4k30 4:2:0 or above. and although I can sometimes get it to do 4k/60 vanilla it starts to cry when I add any significant Chroma settings or HDR. love that the balanced Sub input stayed. Still no FM for us Old schoolers. love the form factor stayed. love that now ALL inputs are 4k.
hmm to CWT. isn't 4k120 a HDMI 2.1 thing. The MC1 looks to be HDMI2.0b spec'd, which means that E-Arc would have to work flawlessly, if bypassing video was your plan.
Emotiva, where's my "Upgrade your MC-700 to the MC1" Option on the sales page? heh.

Wait for the bugs to start pouring in as usual I fear…the tonewinner reviews don’t lend much hope in this respect.
