Independence Day, Top Gun: Maverick, Straight Outta Compton, . . . I think I’m at the same excitement level as a 77 inch LG G3 purchase!!!

It's now dawning on me - after seeing those shipping boxes - that you are gonna have so much fun trying to find out how low they go!

It's now dawning on me - after seeing those shipping boxes - that you are gonna have so much fun trying to find out how low they go! I just spent the last hour wondering exactly how to best get these beasts out of their double boxing. I ended up putting it on its side, opening the bottom, setting it back upright and shimmying the boxes off. Tom(PSA owner) put furniture sliders in the box to put under the rubber feet, they work well and once getting them under the feet(which was a feat on my own), it makes moving the 135 lbs of subwoofer quite easy.

While I won't be getting around to running the Anti-Mode 2.0 Dual Core and Dirac until maybe/possibly this weekend. Without using any room EQ correction, the depth of bass, control and authority of these subwoofers are levels above what they replaced. I honestly didn't realize what I've been missing. All of what I'm experiencing and the gain knob isn't even at 25%.

These may give you all an idea of the physical difference between my old SVS PB12-Plus and the TV1813M. Did you get much sleep last night?

About 5 hrs so yeah, not much, considering I’m on a day trip for work and I’ll be back late this evening! ……..and I’ll probably go to bed late tonight because of all the tinkering I’ll be doing.

........................so the last 17 days since my PSA subwoofers arrived, I've had a few projects, unexpected work trips and when I've had the time to play on the weekends the Florida Panhandle weather/thunderstorms just haven't been cooperative. I managed to run my Anti-Mode last weekend in-between storms and finally late this morning I was able to run Dirac. I've not had much time to demo but what I have heard sounds fantastic. One of my projects(1st picture below) was to update the drive train(iow a Shimano Ultegra R8000 mechanical update(front/rear derailleurs, bottom bracket, crank, cassette, chain, shifters, brakes, cables, etc., etc., etc.) on my 2002 Litespeed Arenberg road bike. I was a bike wrench in my high school/college years, so I had a bit of catching up to do on the Park Tool website. Any road cyclists on the Lounge? Any how that project has been finalized, and I did it so I can re-acquaint myself with one of my passions in life that was set aside during the recent Covid BS due to the hours I was doing at work. Cycling has always been an enjoyable way for me to stay in shape, but also a stress reliever for me to set aside the worries of life for a bit and take a deep breath. I've already entered an annual local sponsored "Century" in late October, and I'm about 80% up to speed in preparations for that 100 miler. I've also gone and purchased a new 2023 Litespeed Ultimate(the road bike I wanted 21 years ago but couldn't quite afford it then) so now I'll have two titanium road bikes in my stable(one traditional/classic road frame and the more modern "Compact" road frame), so as soon as Litespeed builds it(frame was being welded and anodized Monday, it went into their build que on Friday, so I'm waiting on the next update as I type) I'll be adding the saddle, saddle pack, pedals, cages and computer and I'll be enjoying my dream bike soon enough. I'll add an actual picture(2nd picture below from website) once I receive the bike, hopefully in a few weeks or so. Any how, this week and next weekend I've got a stack of un-opened uhd-bluray movies ready to be played which include: Independence Day, Jaws, Doctor Sleep, World War Z, It, It: Chapter 2, Mad Max: Fury Road, and Guardians of the Galaxy 3 should be here this Mon/Tues. Not to mention several movies that will be a must replay like Top Gun: Maverick and The Hunt for Red October(a favorite of mine). Attachments:

Well it has been about six weeks since I last updated this thread, and what a six weeks it has been. In other words, work and Hurricane Idalia caused pauses in my home theater enjoyment and life in general. Most of yesterday I chose to take a break from life and play, and what an outcome, getting for now my new dual PSA subwoofers dialed in and sounding as fantastic as I knew they would and could be. They are a huge improvement over my dual SVS subwoofers in every aspect. I've used hockey pucks with hard wood furniture sliders underneath them to make it easy to move around if need be and they also serve as an inexpensive decoupling/dampening system of sorts. I have them placed in the 1/4 - 3/4 positioning in the front(same as the SVS). Along with my Arendal Sound speakers, I consider this setup to be my dream setup and honestly know they sound every bit as good as speakers and subwoofers at least 3x their cost(and I've heard many speakers/subs at least that and more). The PSA's integrate, IMO, quite seamlessly and I'm really impressed with their presentation of their combined sound. If I didn't know where they were located, sitting in the MLP, I couldn't tell their placement in my living room. Obviously the PSA's Italian B&C 18in drivers push more air and are way more substantial than the 12in drivers in the SVS's but the depth of the bass and how deep they are capable of going is something that really can't be explained but must be experienced. The only negative or omission that the PSA's don't have is a smartphone app for bluetooth control, but once dialed in I haven't missed the bluetooth control as the PSA manual DSP control on the IcePower plate amp is quite robust. Experiencing bass heavy movies, the PSA's give clean and unstrained bass, and where my SVS's were straining to handle bass in the 15-25Hz range at higher volumes, the PSA's are easily handling that example and can go deeper.

LCSeminole can you please tell us a bit about your experience with your Anti-Mode 2.0 Dual Core? And can do you have some response plots you could post? I'm very curious about this!

LCSeminole can you please tell us a bit about your experience with your Anti-Mode 2.0 Dual Core? And can do you have some response plots you could post? I'm very curious about this! You've probably already visited the product website, but here you go: www.dspeaker.com/anti-mode-2-0-dual-coreMy work life recently has become highly demanding(12hr days) and I'll be more or less on the road for the next four weeks(through Thanksgiving) and maybe even a good way through December as well. Thus my time at home through November/December will consist of touching base on weekends and traveling between Birmingham and Atlanta and work facilities around those cities. Sorry but no response plots at this point, and while I'll be driving home tomorrow for a long weekend, most of that time will be prepping for my cycling event on Saturday which I've been training for a while now. I will say, I prefer my dual PSA subwoofers with the 2.0 dual core in the home theater than without(with just Dirac Live they sound great), but together the experience is phenomenal. While my dual PSA subwoofers are easily a huge improvement over the SVS subs they replaced, they are now even tighter(you have to experience) without sounding controlled and the depth(probably because they push more air) can be felt.

I periodically like to check out subwoofer controllers, and the Anti-Mode units look intriguing.

I guess I should look at sig system info more often. Thanks! I have the the Antimode 8033S II and I prefer them over the MiniDSP because they are so easy to setup and use. You basically plug in the mic, press a button and get out of the way for about 20 minutes. I use mine to tame the response of my sub a bit (there is a nasty 45Hz peak) which makes it easier to set up Dirac's levels. Without it (or a MiniDSP) I have to set the sub level very low to keep from clipping in Dirac. The MiniDSP is definitely more versatile and customizable but is a lot more trouble IMO and I didn't need all that adjustability.
