Pick one or the other. And be done with it. If we never changed the clocks and some politician suggested we do it. They would be demanded to get a cognitive intelligence test

I’ve wanted full time DST for years. I imagine some of my December ski days will start dark and cold, but I’ll enjoy the brighter, warmer afternoons.

Personally, I don’t have a problem with it. My clock changing +/- one hour on a predefined schedule twice per year on a weekend doesn’t bother me. I like having the extra daylight hours in the summer months and I couldn’t care less what time night falls during the winter months. What bothers me more is the whole idea of making daylight savings time “permanent” as that goes against all things natural, all year round. My opinion is that some things should be left well enough alone… There are worse things that need immediate fixin’. EDIT: It’s been tried before… read about it HERE.

If the move is to keep Daylight Saving Time all year round, I'm all for it. But I do NOT want to get rid of it and stay with regular time all year round, I like it to stay light longer into the night. I always hate going back to regular time and losing the hour of daylight at night and I always look forward to Daylight Saving Time.

A friend of mine loves DST! He can't imagine being without it. He is like me, retired, and can pretty much get up any time he wishes, and of course head for bed whatever the time. But he just can't see how he could do without DST. It gives him more "daylight hours to mess around"!
I suggested he and his ilk quit bullying the rest of us who can get up at the crack of dawn to enjoy the day, and go to bed at a sane hour! He's quite intelligent, except on the subject of DST. It saves NOTHING. There is still only so much daylight, about 10 or 12 or 15 hours of daylight each and every day, and to let a clock rule your life instead of the sun, is simply ludicrous! Nothing is being 'saved'! We just move Mickey's hands around a bit to satisfy those who cannot comprehend that NOTHING IS BEING SAVED!
It's not that I like or hate DST, but lets all agree that we live on in perpetuity with Mickey's hands always one hour into the future, or not. And then leave them there!
And FWIW time is a construct of man. An invention, pure and simple.

I don't care what time is decided upon. Its the changing that drives me nuts. Well... I'm driven nuts by creatures that do not take well to feeding time changes. Try telling a flock of seven cockatoos that they need to wait an hour to be fed. You'll hear their complaints at 120 dB for several minutes and repeated till they are fed. It usually takes a couple weeks to get them on schedule.

I would prefer not to change the clocks. Pick one or the other and stick with it.

I'm retired and really don't care. Just tell me when to change the time and in what direction. Having said that, if it were up to me I would just keep standard time all year.

Having said I’d prefer full time DST (in part because I’m not a ‘morning person’) I’ll add that this year the time change seemed to hit me harder than usual. Even though most days I don’t have to get up at a particular time, I felt very fatigued for maybe a week. It could have coincided with some aggressive ski days, or maybe turning 70, whatever the case, my body really seemed to want that lost hour back (has anyone seen it?)

Daylight Savings Time is a conspiracy, you know.
Having said that, just either keep it on standard or DST but stop all this nonsense of changing clocks twice a year. That would be just one less interference in our lives!

Changing the clock is completely useless... nothing is gained nor lost. Those on a schedule will always wake up and go to bed on the same schedule. Those that work will work the same amount of hours. Those that don't work will do what they normally do at their normally scheduled time. Pick one or the other and be done with it.

Change the clock if you must.. but remember that doesn't change your pet's feeding time.

When we changed our clocks to DST, the birds in my yard all began waking up exactly one hour later, and the sun was in the same spot as the day before! But the birds got the same amount of sleep as the night before. "It's a trick!"

Headed to 9.9 degrees North Latitude in a week .... where it just does not matter at all! And then there was that two week vacation at 79 degrees North. There it was, all day, all night.

Change the clock if you must.. but remember that doesn't change your pet's feeding time. Yup. Our dog still shows up at the same time of day (not by the clock time).
I'm retired and like Knucklehead I don't care BUT I do like it light out longer into the day during the summer. Being so far east, if we stay on DST, it will be dark out until 8am, and even later, during late December and early January. That kind of sucks.
