T3+cons (in my system) - big & bulky may not be usable in future (smaller) rooms cost May still need the sub They’re black Some speaker companies offer a “monitor” version for the cons you’ve listed, not to mention a “monitor” would be perfectly voiced as a “center” channel in a home theater setup as well. Just something Emotiva might think about for the future if they haven’t already.

I’m debating buying these and the new center channel for my living room replacing my Martin Logan Theos speakers. The MLs are great but super sensitive to room placement. In the sweet spot in the room they are great, but in the majority of the room not so much.

Two words: "Vinyl Wrap" If this were a plain, rectangular "monkey coffin," that might be an option. But with the bevels on the front...

And STILL an incredibly boring black. Pass... Two words: "Vinyl Wrap" Maybe for some... Only real wood veneers for me! Yeah, I'm probably "old-school", but black loudspeakers just don't do it for me.

I think Cogito and I are in agreement - wood is better. That said, I can live with woodgrain vinyl provided it is good enough to fool the eye. I did something once to a pair of Klipsch La Scalas that looked really cool. I bought vinyl flooring - self-adhesive woodgrain planks, and stuck them all over the ugly La Scala box. Then I put a grille on the front. They looked like oversized Klipsch Heresys. Cool look! And casual inspection wouldn't tell the difference between what I'd done and real wood. Could I do the same with some Emotiva speakers? Yes, but... Those front bevels would still be a challenge. Another option would be to buy ¼" wood-veneered plywood and cut sections to fit each of the three visible panels of the Emotiva speakers - then use an iron-on ¼" facing to finish the front edges near the bevels. Look kinda like a Revel? And ultimately, who am I to blow against the wind? For $1,700, I'll probably try some T3+ speakers.

To each his own, I guess. If they were offered in Rosewood and black, I'd get the black especially if they cost less. But that's me.

WHY was this released three weeks after I got my Polk R700s.... sigh No reason to sigh unless you’ve heard the T3+ and liked them more. I remember a thrilled person three weeks ago. Just sayin I would not sigh, If I am you, unless when compared side by side, you find yourself preferring the T3+. b/c of your thread, I bought the Polk R200's, to try them out, and boy, was I surprised by their sound. I may me get a pair of R700 down the road, but I cannot imagine the T3+ besting a pair of the R700's, coupled to a pair of good subs, plus they come in wood veneer , or black. Would the T3+ sound like my T2+ with subs? Maybe, yes, and maybe no. Time, auditioning, and reviews would only tell.

I have the T2+ and really like them. My only criticism is the cheap plastic covers over the feet. I hope with the T3+ they have improved the quality of the material of the feet. I’m really tempted to buy the T3+.

For me, the elephant in the room is: Will the T3+ speakers have enough bass in my room that I can dispense with a subwoofer. Yes? I'm in. No? I might as well keep what I've got.

I guess it depends on what sub you might have. I doubt they would do better than my SVS SB16 Ultra or an Emotiva RS13 but they might better a cheaper run of the mill 10" or 12" sub. And whether you're main concern is movies or music.

My current sub is the sealed-box Starke Sound S15. I don't give a flip for movies & want music bass to be as fast, tight, and tuneful as possible.

That is also my preference for music but for movies I like deep thunderous bass. The sealed box SB16 Ultra delivers on both counts. I'm not sure the T3+'s would do a lot for me compared with the T2 + SVS and I'm more interested in the C3+ center.

That's where I find my Chane 753 excel, three 8" drivers in a sealed cabinet the bass is tight and refined, I found the T1 to be more boomy/bloated in that department, still great speakers though but the 753 are more my preference. Every system, room and ears are different so nothing is perfect for everyone of course I feel bad for Jon over at Chane, he has been working on the L series for years and about to build and release the L7 he has had issues with suppliers from you guessed it covid shutdowns and delays, but they look like really good performers, and hey they aren't black haha. www.chanemusiccinema.com/chane-l7.html

Is black the only color offering with Emo speakers? Unfortunately, yes - now and always... By the bye, does anyone know the -3dB point for the T3+ speakers' bass? If it rolls off at 40 Hz. like a wimpy bookshelf speaker, I'm not interested. Per Dan, -6 is 22hz. These appear to be true full range speakers for 2 channel fans

Boom Would be good to compare to my Chane 753, Three 8's, 6 1/2 Mid and Horn Tweeter at $1900pr Boom get both and try them out The 753 look more industrial on Chane's site. They look much nicer in this pic
