What of customers who purchased through a non-US based reseller back in the day when that was available? Thx You would need to contact our sales department sales@emotiva.com to work this detail out since we would need a sales receipt and there will be most likely additional shipping fees etc.

Thanks Nick! Does this mean that if you took advantage of the XMC-2 to RMC-1L upgrade in the past, your upgrade cost this time would be $1,499? Thanks! Hey friends, I have tentative pricing for the levels of this based on current costs in the world for parts, shipping, etc. The NEW prices for the processor fully put together purchasing it as a new unit: RMC-1+ $5,499 RMC-1L+ $4,499 XMC-2+ $3,699 Pricing for the upgrade to take the current processor to the next gen: If you are an original purchaser who got the unit at the original full price (this also includes UFL members) = $699 Everyone else the upgrade cost = $1,499 If you traded up from the XMC-2 to the RMC-1, your cost would be $699 assuming you purchased the XMC-2 at full cost.

Ah, interesting clarification. The math no longer points me to the RMC-1L, but I am interested in that higher performance audio board that the RMC-1+ and RMC-1L+ are going to get.

Okay friends, Another update. I will amend the first post with this as well as there are new and updated details to share. The full price RMC-1 and RMC-1L upgrade cost will be $1,399 The full price XMC-2 upgrade cost will be $1,099 Why are the upgrade costs different? The RMC-1 and RMC-1L, along with all the other upgrades, will get a new higher performance Fully Differential Burr Brown analog output board. The XMC-2, along with all the other upgrades, will get the current RMC Fully Differential AKM analog output board. The original owner cost is still $699. Also, the XMC-1 processor upgrade program was so successful that we are going that route again. You will basically trade your existing processor in and receive a brand new PLUS version. This way people won't have to wait 1-2 months to get their unit back with upgraded parts and speed up the process. We will ship out the new unit when yours arrives at our facility. IF you don't have any warranty left on your unit you are sending in, you will get a 1 year warranty. IF you have anything over a year warranty left on the unit you are sending it, it will get rolled over to the brand new unit. You will get a 5-year warranty if you purchase a full price PLUS processor. Will there be an option for the XMC-2 upgrade to get the new Burr Brown Audio board for $1399?

So, if I originally traded my XMC-1 (purchased new from Emotiva) for the RMC-1L during that upgrade path, what would my cost be to upgrade my RMC-1L to the RMC-1L+ (Gen 4)?

Mark Are you sure those Burr Brown DAC's are actually a higher performance product? I'm not based upon past Burr Brown DAC's I've owned. Maybe things have changed in recent years who knows. Stating this knowing there will be replies that indicate no one can tell the difference from one manufacturers DAC chips to the next, with the exception of ESS Sabre.

I don't understand the concept of punishing someone who bought their processor used, when the original owner bought it at full price. Emotiva still got their money regardless. Seems like a strange philosophy.

Nick, What if one used a 40% off card? Would that be the same as the UFL?

I imagine you've seen Keith and Lonnie saying its more about the overall design of the electronics than the specific DAC chips used. One thing that wasn't clear to me is how extensive this "audio board" is. Is it just the DACs or is it the whole audio chain from decoding to the outputs on the back of the box? emotivalounge.proboards.com/post/1032212Mark

Nick, I bought my RMC-1 last year under the Bring Us Your Dead promotion. If I want to exchange it for an RMC-1+, what is the price expected to be? (I could be misreading the recent messages above, but I'm confused if the pricing is to upgrade the boards in my existing case - which I understand doesn't upgrade the power supply and analog board - or if that's a full trade-up to an RMC-1+.) Thanks for any info.

So to be clear…… what parts would be replaced in an upgrade for RMC-1 and what performance and or features would be gained?
Just finished paying off t2+ speakers and RMC-1 and wouldn’t you know it…..upgrades!! LOL.
I have been very pleased so far. Only the minor speaker pop from time to time.

I'm really curious as to what the new front panel will look like. In the podcast lonnie said a new front panel, so i wonder if they will remove the big dial, or will we get a bigger oled display.

If you bought the unit second hand would the upgrade price be $1,099 for the XMC-2?
