I am adding more speakers to my 5.1 system hear soon.
2 speakers on the sides and 2 more in the back to make it a 9.1.
In my 5.1 it looks like this:

Couch Ceiling L Ceiling R
Please help telling what to plug in
Thanks Mike

You might want to check the thread List of Atmos movies that use front Wides. I had Left and Right Wide channels for a while but took them out for a couple reasons. Firstly, the floor standing speakers I was using interfered with the bass response from the large fronts I have. Second, there wasn't much activity in them, so it wasn't much of a loss in that regard. For the setup, take a peek at this from Dolby: Dolby ATMOS Speaker Setup Guides
I don't have a dedicated HT, it's a multipurpose room. So while I'm a bit restricted from using floor space on the open side of the AV area, I did use the correct angles and mounted in-wall speakers in the appropriate places.

Hey Mike ( wichitafc98) -- I don’t see what processor you have, but possibly you were looking for which channels to use with your planned new speakers? Here are some ideas if you have one of the G3P, XMC-2 used for example. If you currently have 5.1 you should be hooked up where the White Arrows point. To move to 7.1 you’d add the Back channels the Green Arrows Point to, and for 9.1 add the Width channels indicated with Blue Arrows. There are some other possible ways to use your two new pairs of speakers. To start with, if you actually have a pair of speakers in the ceiling, you could rearrange you existing speakers as 3.1.2 with Atmos by moving your Surround outputs to the channels marked by the Purple Arrows. To make this 5.1.2 you could put one of your new pairs to the side of your seating position and hook back to the Surround (White) channels, or 5.1.4 Purple & Orange. To go 7.1.2 add the second pair to the Green position. Hopefully I didn't make this more confusing, just some additional ideas for you to consider, as ttocs suggested, you should look at the Dolby speaker setup recommendations, and read the Width channel thread.
