A LOT have been listed I had forgotten about (and liked). Thanks for reminding me of them.
One I would also add is "Rockford Files". I liked the show and (then & now) love the theme song. There are many versions of it, vaguely remember the season 1 version as my favorite version.

There are many versions of it, vaguely remember the season 1 version as my favorite version. Last night we just finished watching a Classic although we had never seen it from 1966 called Grand Prix. James Garner, who starred in the Rockford files was one of the young racecar drivers in the film, pretty good racing footage in that film, considering what year it was produced. The only thing that sucked was the music score. Ironically, you liked the Rockford file theme! This score was one of the crapiest,, campiest film scores with a recurring motif, that had me wanting me to throw something at the TV lol. That would’ve been too expensive so instead I grinned and Beared it. I saw Grand Prix when it was released, and is still a fav for racing films. It's a long movie, but has lots of real racing action along with the actions filmed with the actors that had to follow the F1 racing schedule to each race the year before. In some of the helicopter shots at Monaco the actor's race cars can be seen grouped together in an out of the way area next to the track. James Garner, and other stars of the film drove the race cars themselves after instruction from the brilliant and pretty long list of pro drivers who also were in the film. Also, of lighter interest, is my theory that the song Goody Two Shoes by Adam Ant is derived from some lines in Grand Prix. When Nino Barlini meets Lisa he asks: Nino: Dance? Lisa: I don't dance. Nino: Have a drink with me! Lisa: I don't drink. Nino: Smoke? Lisa: I don't smoke. Nino: What do you do? . . . . . Goody Two Shoes lyrics: Don't drink, don't smoke, what do you do? Subtle innuendo follows, must be somethin' inside. |

This is a great thread!
I'm amazed at how few shows mentioned that I haven't seen. I must've been glued to the set!
And yes, I used to wake up at dawn on weekends, watch the tv screen change from test pattern to The Blue Angels and the National Anthem, and then The Rocky And Bullwinkle Show!
