So any news on your property in Cape Coral this morning? All is good and no water intrusion at all. Power down as of 9pm last night but it's back on. I am able to log onto my home HVAC system. We dodged a huge bullet on this one! Scott
Great news. Now we only wonder about LuisV and hemster.

Great news. Now we only wonder about LuisV and hemster. LuisV's profile location shows "Lakewood Ranch", this is extremely close to where Hurricane Milton made landfall, I sure hope Luis and his family are OK ? I'm not sure exactly what part of the Tampa area that Hemster lives, I sure hope he came through this OK as well.

…… All of that massive power and destruction. A tough one for many indeed.
Living in the north east I did want to know what the thing was gonna do next and have been monitoring what happened after it crossed over Florida. The storm really did get chopped into pieces And no longer exists as a storm at all just clouds on the radar thank goodness.

I'm not sure exactly what part of the Tampa area that Hemster lives, I sure hope he came through this OK as well. Being on the noth side of Milton, we had a lot of wind and rain. The incessent roaring, howling and whistling noises kept me up all night. But we made it through! I lost a couple of sections of my fence. Found the slats intact about 3 streets away! Managed to fix it all back up and and the fence is back like new. Did plant a tree 3 weeks ago that took a punch from Helene. Keeled over to the left. I braced it up and then came Milton. Now that tree is leaning way over to the right. Will add more bracing tomorrow. No other damage in my neighborhood. Although just a few streets over, it looks like a war zone. We never lost power! It flickered about 5 times but came back immediately. Also amazingly, never lost the internet. Really want Milton to be th3e last storm of the season. Hope all is well with LuisV.

I’m on the Treasure Coast, Indian River County. The hurricane was about what I expected but we had four tornadoes not far from my house. Luckily no was hurt. It did rip apart a large mahogany in my front yard, but no damage to the house. Just nine hours of chainsaw work to clear it from my driveway and off my garage.

Lost power on Wednesday around 6:30pm and it was restored today, Friday 10/11 around 5:30pm. Needless to say, all food in the fridge has been thrown out.
From what we have been able to gather, landfall was around the Siesta Key / Sarasota Bradenton Airport; about 24 miles away.
The initial lashing was very wicked… then… all of a sudden… dead silence. We immediately thought that the eye of the storm was overhead, so we took a peek outside through a back door and it was extremely quiet. No noise, no rain, no wind… absolutely nothing. Very scary, but calming at the same time. Probably stupid, but since we appeared to be in the eye of the storm, we took the dog out and as soon as he did his business, we ran back inside. All kidding aside, an hour or so later… all hell broke loose again… stronger winds... Shutters buzzed loudly and the garage door moaned and groaned.
The next morning, we walked the property… no structural damage. Palm trees and landscaping took a major beating, but they will grow back. Pool enclosure has a bunch of torn screens, but they can be replaced. We were lucky. Same with friends and neighbors… no structural damage... considering the damage we've seen while driving around looking for food, we have been inconvenienced. Others have uninhabitable conditions... sad... very sad...
My heart and prayers go out to those that are far worse affected than we are…

All things considering, that was pretty quick for your power getting restored!!!

Hoping everyone came out well from Milton. I know many of my work colleagues had a rough go. Some lost their homes too. So hoping again all are safe and sound here.

On the way home from dinner, I was able to fill up on gas... line wasn't too long, approx. 20min wait. Folks were civil... gave thanks to the line men that were filling up their trucks.

My relatives in Manatee County are still without power. Food is scarce. The neighborhood is decimated and unrecognizable. The USPS is not delivering mail. But, packages are being delivered by Amazon and Federal Express... SMH
