OK - So maybe I'm a romantic idiot after all. Tonight we watched " Letters to Juliet" and I enjoyed it. Maybe it was the scenery? Or maybe I'm just a secret romantic. A nice movie.

Tonight, " Margin Call" with Kevin Spacey. I generally have liked ALL of the Kevin Spacey movies (with the exception of American Beauty), and true to form, I liked this one. In short, it's about the power of gold. Even the best men (and women) in the movie eventually sold out their consciences for financial gain. A slow-paced, but tense movie about the real-estate bubble and well worth watching.

Judgement Night (1993) The film has a few of those "no way" moments but the direction and cinematography are so well executed that it pulled me in.

Tonight, " The Family Stone," a love fantasy set at Christmastime. Wife summed it up best "Well, there were no car crashes, explosions, body parts, or fistfights." I wished it had a more credible plot, but it is what it is...

Tonight, " The Duchess" - A BBC film starring Kiera Knightley - whom, in addition to being gorgeous, can REALLY act! And although I've always intellectually understood how badly women were treated in the past, it came home like a body-slam in this film. A true story - a period piece - a must-see.

I enjoyed the movie, but didn't really understand it. The whole thing with his mom, aunts and grandfather? There were some decent bass scenes in there and I liked the animation. I thought the movie had some scary parts for kids but my 2 year old and 7 year old loved it. It comes from the same people that made Coraline.

An artsy flick. The director was going for a certain look/feel for art purposes. Pretty difficult to like Clooney; very easy to really like Clara. Doh... Bluray picture quality was very good. Movie has aged decently with time. 1. The XMC-1 really improved the quality of the soundtrack. The music was much better than with my prior UMC-1. The final 2 scenes (Ecstasy of Gold and Il Triello) are worth repeated listening/watching. 2. The explosion from the second cannon shot from Clint at Tuco (at the end) is demo-worthy
