I think that the beauty of using carbon fiber is that you would no longer be constrained by the limited construction process for would. You could create an ideal shape... much like B&W has with their Nautilus line.

Most of that stuff is total BS including those stupid looking Nautilus speakers and those scammer "Triffid" weird waveguide BS pictures (From what I hear they make great stage props ROTFL). Hey man if you haven't figured it out yet the "highend" audio world is full of what amount to ripoff artists in many cases. Emotiva is like walking through some street bazaar in southest asia with dudes trying to sell you stuff at four times the price unless you argue and barter, then you come across one booth where the prices are clearly labeled with smilie faces or something LOL and they are wholesale prices and the goods are 15th Century Ming! It's like walking into a used car dealership and buying a 2009 Porsche GT3 for $15 grand. Emotiva really is that great of a deal.

Owhh right Andrew Birds stage prop speakers... That guy uses samples and overlays with a sequencer and couldn't play an instrument to save his friggin life. Watch his videos... if you have half an ear and eye you can spot him Milli Vanilli his violin playing... go for it watch it on youtube! But wait I could be wrong ehh!! LOL He was trained in the Sazuki Method at the age of 4 ROTFL owhh and that rotating horn thing is a total joke if it's to be used as anything other than a stage prop. Checkout 3:18... that's his Magic formula for his horn speakers! I don't know what kinda luthier Ian Schneller is but his ideas on speaker design are laughable. I guess I shouldn't be so hard on Andrew Bird... at least he makes up for it with melody/harmony and decent lyrics.... I just wish he wouldn't strum to a sample like he does... who's he think he's fooling? owhh wait the 22 year old hottie hippie chick in the front row he's gunna bed that night... the bastard! LOL Solid-State www.sfweekly.com/2009-02-18/music/please-don-t-hate-andrew-bird/www.expressmilwaukee.com/article-8331-andrew-bird-destroyer-of-perfection.html

Just interesting is anyone has auditioned that speakers yet Unfortunately I didn't have a chance yet, but wish it especially after this: www.6moons.com/showcase/underwoodhifi/underwoodhifi.htmlIt sounds like [audiophile's] Holly Grail eventually has been discovered, Eah? Even if it's as half as good as review stated, may be Emotiva could team up with Clayton Shaw and design/manufacture something like that ;D

While I am always a little skeptical of the glowing reviews from 6Moons (everything they like is suddenly the audiophile's holy grail) I do know that Emerald Physics makes fine sounding systems. I have not yet heard this powered model but their earlier systems sounded pretty good.

Yeah I'd like to get a cab for a Rythmik Direct Servo kit (amazing sub guys!) made just like that Sierra1 glossy dark cherry. Dude seriously Dave has one hell of a connection to fab that cabinet. It truly is a sight to behold. I can't imagine Vance's speakers in a cab that looked like that!!! Friggin GORGEOUS! Solid-State PS it's also worth noting that it wouldn't be hard to find artisans is south east Asia that have mega experience working with Bamboo. It's also harder than any wood I know of and is as strong as steel apparently! owhh and it's a hip material in California with the Enviro types! It could be a huge winner Emo! I know Salk Sound does some custom finish work with Rythmik subs, but I don't know if that is what you were referring to. Salk's finishes are just beautiful and I know they have made some with bamboo and they looked stunning....not to mention sound amazing. In fact I am considering bamboo as the finish I will choose for my SongTowers.

Solid-State Yes it is true that there is a lot of "much ado about nothing" in the high end audio market but there are indeed some truly remarkable products out there. I agree that most of the high end world is rediculously over priced and hardly worth the money. The cost to performance graph is linear for sure. Emotiva certainly has some great products for the cost and for the budget audio nut, appear to be a logical choice. Just curious, have you listened to the Nautilus before?

Their acoustic lenses speakers looks quiet strange: But it sounds really good. Actually BeoLab 5's auditioning impressed my more than Martin Logan's with their enormous size of sweet spot and sounstage
