I don't think that a european branch is on the way, even because their direct sales option would no longer be in use and the final price of the items even with a branch would be higher than sending directly from the USA... Did you read the thread first Dear EU friends, Please be aware that we are working on this issue right now. I was just in Germany at the HiFi show and will be returning in two weeks to hopefully complete our review and selection of a distribution partner for Emotiva win Europe. Once it's official, we'll let you all know. Thanks for your support, Big Dan Emotiva is made in China, so if there is an European distribution it will ship from China.

Did you read the thread first yes I did...but at this time with the current world crisis situation maybe this is just a well intended thought...just that

it is obvious that EU buyers are just not as much as the Americans, and therefore they are thinking it twice before making a move here...
they were saying that it would be ready before this summer and now we are heading for winter and no response yet.....
even so,I can't understand the delay since all orders will be through internet and all they need is an agreement with a major courier deflecting the products in EU.....

Unfortenately it is not that easy, Emotiva must comply with all these EU rules . Such as a manual in different languages and many many more things. I agree that Emotiva should be quicker and takes a lot off time to get things done.

I agree that Emotiva should be quicker and takes a lot off time to get things done. Translating the manuals into a couple of languages should be easy, but most EU regulations for that kind of things would be safety related, I guess. Such as "how do you justify a big XPA not beeing grounded?", for instance, or mandatory safety checks/measurements for EM levels... that can be a pain.

you mean that US/EU specs differ? then how on earth there are people who have imported emo gear from the States to Europe and live happily with them without setting their house on fire?

It's not a matter of setting your house on fire, it's a matter of safety rules and laws. But, thank god, no, I didn't set my house on fire with my second hand, customised, xpa-2

It appears that the euro branch is stuck... And I know why; everyone who distributes hi-fi is used to huge markups as in the mainstream companies. Guys at emo, why don't you copy the mouser.com shipping-to-europe model? Mouser first ships all their euro orders in france with ups or fedex, clear duties and vat there for all orders and then ships to the destination with customs cleared, as the package comes from inside the eu. All included in shipping. It really works and is fast as well, otherwise Mouser wouldn't ship orders of >75 euros free. That would take care the shipping part. Now I need to think something about the warranty

Shipping is the easiest part. I just bought an UMC-1. Fedex will transport the package within one week to your address, deliver it and afterwards you will receive an invoice for customs duties and TAX. Really easy....

Thanks for your support, Big Dan I realise 100% that things aren't always as easy as we'd like, but I would be so gratefull if a EU branch would open sooner rather than later, preferably within driving range from EU's capital.... So, any news on the subject? Thanks and happy new year.

How about establishing a new tradition, Emotiva? A Yearly update on whether Euro Thing is happening or not, please? Munich show is as good time as any

It would be so great if they opened a euro branch just for sending the gear, I purchased 1 umc-1, 1 UPA-500, 1 mini-x A100, and 2 XRM 4.1, FEDEX is great for delivering efficiently but it is costly.. (eg. for my mini-x and a pair of XRM4.1 I had 130$ freight - nearly as much as the speakers..) Of course you had the euro taxes with a european branch, but so do you when you buy direct from Emotiva so I am pretty sure the price would be VERY decent even from a euro branch. As everyone I would be happy for a simple news, if developping in europe can still happen, if not, I guess I'll keep buying direct from the website, but with more thinking before doing so

Hello Europeans friends, Bought in APRIL (2) and MAY (3) XPA-1 and I have to report that, the cost of transport in Europe is much higher than the USA. Not worth the wait, because the BAD EUROPEAN POLICY will only create more and more disgrace, which is unfortunate. I have a solution and all conditions to realize OUR DREAM but the truth is that the CURRENT MODEL OF BUSINESS EMOTIVA is the best! Enjoy the difference EURO vs USD and buy with confidence, they are EXTREMELY COMPETENT AND PROFESSIONAL! I guarantee!

This was news to me, I only heard that the last attempt was aborted. Great to hear!
Please select a country with low VAT =), buying from the states almost doubles the prices to Sweden after taxes, tolls and shipping. But once inside the EU they aren't allowed to charge VAT or tolls again so importing/exporting to a low-VAT country could make a big impact on the pricing to the end user.
