funny that when I logged in this morning this was the first post I saw on the forum.. I went to the Nashville Predators (hockey) game last night and they promoted this movie about every five minutes on the big screen.. thinking maybe I am meant to watch it?? I have not seen any of the other movies in the series though, should I before seeing this?

just watch the original with arnold. "Predator" (its the original) the other 4 are sequels that are all based off of the first. (including the AVPs)

YES, definitively! ...I'd say "Predator" (the original), and also "Predator 2" (the sequel) would be preferable to be viewed before "Predators".
- But this is a free world where rules are to be broken once in a while, so... ;D ...Feel free as you wish. But you have my opinion now as you had the audacity to ask a question on these open forums. And it is my duty (sort of) to answer in total honesty.
And both Carl and I agree at least on the first part, the original "Predator".

I, too, bought and watched Predators (again) last night. My brother and I enjoyed it in the theater along with a full growler of beer. I've got to admit, those digital copies are handy now that streaming devices are so accessible

Watched The Last of the Mohicans last night. I dont know why but I remember thinking this movie was a lot better. I never saw it when it came out but I remember it had a lot of buzz and was romanticized a lot. But after seeing it I cant believe people ate this crap up. It's like a Danielle Steele book set during the French and Indian War. On the technical side the PQ and SQ were just ok. Night time scenes were very murky and on the sound side I thought they couldve brought the surrounds in more for the battle scenes and also the score, which is the only highlight of the film.

^ And that was from the Blu-ray? ...Did you have the DVD before? Also, you have to remember that this film was shot in 1991 and released in 1992 (that's 20 years ago! ).
...You simply cannot expect miracles from that long ago shot films with the cameras of the time plus Michael Mann's style and with his crew having an eye for the overall Cinematography, the recreation od the time period, and like you said so well yourself, the musical score.
There has been quite some changes indeed in the last 20 years; and that counts for something, and that something, you just scalped a piece of it.

Iron Man 2 today. Pretty good, but I like the first one better.
PQ and SQ are excellent.
Next up are The Exorcist, King Kong (original), and Psycho (original).
Did quick scans of those three.
Kong is grainy, but hey, it's an oldie.
Psycho and Exorcist look terrific!

What a great movie.. everything is so well done and the music/lyrics are superb. The ending is kind of hokey but I suppose if I used to be a human and then became an inanimate object I'd want to be back to human again, too. ;D

By the way, the UMC-1 decoded the disc perfectly. No problems whatsoever!
