BTW, according to their online 'compatibility tester' the UMC-1 is present under 'Emotiva' and 'A/V Receiver'. Does that mean they have officially added it or just that they are aware it exists but do not formally have the codes entered? if you add it to your devices, then look and see if it has the new inputs listed under the buttons then they are there. If there is only input next and input prev then you have to send them the codes.

I have never had to do anything like this before with Logitech. What exactly do I need to do? E-mail them and tell them to add the Emotiva UMC-1 'codes' to my account? Do I need to be more specific than that? Do I have to attach the files as well, or since one person has done it do they now have them in their database? Thanks for the help. If you haven't already added the UMC-1 codes, pull them down first so that you have a device in your database for Logitech to add the codes to. There are additional discrete codes provided by Dann G. in the first post that are not on the remote (like input sources and dolby volume). Optionally, I guess you can create your own device manually, but why would anyone want to do that? ;D Next, you will need the following information from your remote. This info on my Harmony One is in the battery compartment. I had to remove the battery to get to it. I'm not sure where it's located in other Harmony remotes, but I would guess it isn't difficult to find. - M/N (optional, but I provided it anyway)
- PID or S/N
- P/N
Next: - Open a simple text editor like notepad.
- Go to the link Dann provided. You will probably only want certain codes added, so grab the text file.
- Open the file, then copy/paste all the hex codes that you want added to notepad. You want to paste it exactly as it appears in Dann's link, including the Command Name. You'll only need the codes that jahays32 provided in this post, providing that you added the existing UMC-1 device to your database.
- Save the notepad file to text (.txt) format, and choose a location where you can access it easily (like your desktop).
Once you have all the above, goto www.logitech.com and: - Mouse-over the "Support" link at the top center of the page, then click the "Contact Us" link.
- At the next page, click the "By Email" link. It is under the "Telephone Support" heading at the top of the page. This should take you to an "Email Support" page.
- Fill in all the fields, not just the * required fields, and include the remote information above. *You need to use the same email address as the one registered to your Harmony account.
- In the Description box, request to have hex codes added to your Harmony device database. Provide your account login ID (NOT THE PASSWORD) and the device name (default is AV Receiver if you didn't rename the device). Indicate that you have attached a text file with the hex codes.
- Under the description box there is a field where you can browse and attach your text file. Browse to where you saved the hex codes text file and attach it.
- Click the "Continue" button and follow the instructions on the next page.
If done correctly you should be issued a ticket number and also receive an email shortly. The last time I did this the codes were added within 24 hours. Logitech should email you when the codes have been added. Lastly, I'll also note that I've emailed Harmony before with the text file directly to their email box and never got a response. The above worked for me fairly quickly.

I'd vote to sticky red5ive's post until Logitech gets the fully working codeset in their database.

power on and off already work for me Plus, you can just learn them from the orig. remote - much easier than waiting for Harmony. Ha! I never noticed the stock remote has separate on/off buttons. I don't have a UMC-1 myself. - LoopinFool

What about for those of us who no longer can get support. I have to pay to get some hex codes put on that should have already been included by emotiva? Who ever heard of a $700 unit that doesn't have built in discrete codes? Even my $150 htib has discrete codes.

Also, anyone seen a comment on the incomplete set of discrete codes? Where's my Aux 12 button?

Well you have heard of one now ;D Emotiva did try and give Harmony the codes but were unsuccessful. But we will probably see a new remote down the road from Emotiva in brushed aluminum with blue back lighting for only $$$ for the people that need one. I do hope they release the rest of the codes for all the inputs in the next FW release.

When I goto customer support I don't even have an email support option, just pay for phone support.

Logitech customer service was exceptional! It took them all of 4 hours to add all of the missing hex codes to my remote. I followed exacly the same procedure as described by red5ive above.

Will the Harmony 700 work the same as the Harmony 1? It's $100 cheaper and the only difference I can see is it isn't touchscreen.

Hex codes are working great with a URC MX-810.. FWIW, a 9.5 second delay between power up and changing inputs works flawlessly.
It would be the cat's meow if the UMC-1 could listen to a input selection (via rear panel IR) and use that as a queue to power-up from standby and change to that input, but I can work around it for now.
Thanks for bringing these out... The UMC-1 is now wife-friendly, a BIG bonus!!!

FWIW, a 9.5 second delay between power up and changing inputs works flawlessly. Is it really that slow? A 1.0 second Power On Delay works flawlessly with my Pioneer VSX-LX70 AVR in my current setup. Best regards, Ole Willy Tuv

Are the UMC and USP remote codes still incompatible? IIRC, Yes but a fix for this is imminent...
