Guys, I'm coming from an aging Pronto TSU-600. Right now with the UMC-1 and a PS3, I'd like to upgrade the remote to control both. I know the Harmony line is discussed at length here but would that be enuff for the PS3 or will I have to get that PS3 adapter thingy?

You would still need to buy the PS3 adapter thingy.

Remote HEX code document is missing "Return". Cancel and Exit pretty much does the same - exit out of the menu. Are the Harmony users having the same issue? I'm using a Pronto NEO. I know I know it was so yesterday. But I'm too attached to the Pronto NEO

I do not yet have a UMC-1, but I've had too much frustration trying to get discrete codes into the URC remotes in the past and would like to possibly help out.
I have an MX-700 remote and with the latest version of the editor I was able to enter all of the UMC-1 discrete codes into the software and export them as device files (attached). Since I don't have the UMC I wasn't able to test them for proper operation. There are actually 3 device files zipped into the attached file. There were too many discrete codes to enter into one device so most of the codes are in the part one file with the rest in the part 2 file. The third file has all of the Zone 2 codes.

billmac, that's the first thing I tried Pronto would not learn the code for "Return" from the original.

I'm sure this will be helpful to others. I was able to input all of the discrete codes from the PDF file into my URC MX-900.

billmac, that's the first thing I tried Pronto would not learn the code for "Return" from the original. Hmm, that's odd. Did you try this multiple times? Or use the "flutter" technique? (i.e. tapping the Return key on the UMC-1 multiple times quickly instead of a press or a press-and-hold). Next weekend I will try to learn the Return key on my MX-900 and post my findings.

I have the harmony one working 90% with the umc1. my problem is the umc1 picks the wrong source. the setup in harmony one:
To watch TV: Digital Set Top Box is set to "Tuner" TV is set to "HDMI1" UMC1 is set to "Source 1"(cable hdmi1)
To watch DVD TV is set to "HDMI1" UMC1 is set to "Source 2(dvd hdmi2)
the problem is that on boot up the umc1 usually selects "Direct" instead of "Source 1 or 2" pushing help on the harmony fixes this after answering some questions, but the next time I turn everything on the umc1 is back on "direct" and I have to use the help button again or change the input manually. I would think the way the harmony is set up that it would change the source as part of the boot up. any ideas?

I just found the "My AV Receiver takes the following time to warm up" adjustment so I will select something more than 1500 ms and see if that fixes the problem

I think your problem could be that the remote sends the source signal too quickly, i.e. before the UMC is ready to accept another command during it's boot-up sequence. Try programming a longer power-on delay in the remote.

Many have found a useable delay to be in the 14 second range (14000ms).

I've found it much easier to not use any delays in my Harmony remote and just switch to the correct input after initial power on. The long delay is only needed when the UMC-1 initially boots up and is not needed when switching between activities after it's on.

I let the device boot up (which takes 10 or 12 seconds) and then when it's ready for remote input I switch to the input I want using my remote. After initial boot up, there is no need for any delays it switches instantly.

Wow that's a long delay... I will try it though Thanks I used the 14000 ms delay on my Harmony 688 and I never had an issue. The UMC-1 always switched to whatever input/activity button was pushed. Worked quite well, you should give it a try. Bill
